My front brakes squeak, I replaced the pads but the squeak is still there. These have squeaked for a long time?

There is an ongoing problem with squeaking front brakes on dodge rams and charger rt.From 2000 up to present Ihave been told dodge used cheap pads and rotors on a lot of there cars and trucks.I own a 2008 charger rt with 40000 miles and changed brake pads and rotors twice and they still squeak.i herd only remedy is to buy upgraded pads and rotors but these are much more expensive then stock parts. For now i am putting up with squeak till i get the extra money to get rid of noise.the brakes wont fail they just squeak.(I know very annoying)for now i just turn up radio a little louder LoL.But until dodge admits there using cheap ???? parts complaining to dealer didnt help.Good luck. PS A friend of mine put on slotted rotors and expensive pads and yes the still squeak. So mabye it has somthing to do with calipers but again dodge wont admit this.

I have 2001 dodge ram 4x4. i get a thumping noise in the front end for about a quarter of a mile when its cold. it then goes away. it almost sounds like a flat tire. it seems to be getting worst. the tires...

there might be water in your tire frezing causing a vibration and goes away when warm might also be a broken belt in the tire best thing to do is go see a tire shop

My ram squeeks when i start it up i have put on a new serpentine belt and replaced the pulley tensioer and it still does it only when it is cold though

hi, to find out exactly where the squeak is get a spray like wd40 and spray each pulley in turn until the noise stops this will then tell you if it is a bearing on the way out and where the exact squeak if its not on the pulleys then give the belt a little spray and see if the noise stops if its does then the noise may go after a couple of days after the belt has wore in a bit.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Squeak when starting out in a 2004 dodge ram 1500 quadcab. It is not brakes and it doesn't do it all the time. It gets faster as you go though.

Hello mibparker: If you are sure the brakes are not the source of the problem? I would check a few other things. If the sound is from the front end area. Look at the backing plates on the front rotor area. Make sure they are not touching the rotors. If the noise is from under the truck i would look close at the drive line u-joints. If the are bad they can vibrate or they will squeak or even tweet. This will increase and decrease wit speed of the truck.

Engine won't start

Yes, I understand that it does not start. I just want to make sure that I understand correctly. There are 2 things that can happen when you turn the key. Nothing at all, or the engine will make noise but not actually run. I am trying to find out which of the 2 is happening.
