Yes the the motor is ok, but the cable is probably kink or broken and you will need to replace the window regulator.

Sunroof won't open

is this electric? If so, can you hear the motors try to turn or hum? Do your car lights dim a bit when trying to open the window? If so, motor is good and roof is stuck to to debris or stick seal and will need some assistance with someone pressing firmly on the window and someone pushing the button. Also make sure seal is not stuck together. If you can not hear the motor check the fuse. If fuse is good, use an ohmmeter to test switch and if needed the power to the roof motor

Window stuck

Power Window: If it's a power window check to see if there is power coming from the window switch with a test light or multimeter. If power is coming from the switch, look in the door where it pivots and check to see if any wires are cracked or broken. If there is no borken wires, then it's possible that the power window motor is not working. If you hear the power window motor working or operating it's possible the window regulator is broken or binded up
Manual Window: If it's a manual window, take the door panel off and check the regulator (part where the window is attached) and looked for any signs that the cable in the part has come free or binded up. Try to roll window up and down to find any signs of the broken cable. If that is the case, then you need a window regulator.

I can hear the motor running but window isn't moving. rear window won't go up

If the vehicle has a cable-driven power window, the cable may have snapped which is why the motor is continuously running with no action. If its a gear-driven system, the teeth may have worn down. If you can lift the window by hand, suspect the motor/regulator assembly to be defective as one of the two (if not both) will have to be replaced.

Power window won't go up

most common problem is the window regulator, they work by a cable and pully system. sometimes you may even hear a crunching sound.the motor will still work but the cables wont pull the window

Passenger side power window halfway down

You will need to remove your interior trim panel and check your window regulator for damage and for power going to your window motor. If your regulator is ok and you have power going to the motor then you have a bad window motor. If there is no power at the motor then you will need to check the circuit for the problem ie. blown fuses, broken wiring, bad switch. It is very commen for the motors to go bad. Good luck.

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE driver's power window

The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.
