Do you get to it from inside the car or under the hood?

COULD BE FAULTY BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR OR FAULTY CONTROL SWITCH.

Hi, you seems to have a problem with the blower resister which is on the pass side behind the blower motor (dash board) and you have to drop the blower motor to get to it.
When you get to the point, you will see the burnt resister and you can get the resister replacement for just $50

2003 chevy impala engine stalls whats the issues

When the actuator malfunctions, the engine gets no signal for idling speed and stops working. Clogged or restricted EGR Valve: If your EGR valve is clogged, dirty, or defective it can cause your car to stall, idle erratically, or sputter, depending on whether it is stuck open or closed. I would start there.

P0171 and P0174 are lean codes. There is likely a large vacuum leak or the MAF is bad.

Try starting the car and wiggling the connector for the MAF sensor. Also try tapping the MAF sensor. If the idle changes or the car stalls replace the MAF sensor.

The second shop should recognize that these codes don't have anything to do with the ignition module.

2003 Chevy Impala w/dual zone heat /AC stopped blowing on speed 5. Worked fine on speeds 1 thru 4 for about 4 weeks then stopped working on all speeds.

Likely the blower motor resistor. located right next to the blower motor, this device is resposible for reducing the voltage suplied to the motor. when it fails you may loose some or all speeds of the motor

is the passenger side coming on? it is possible that it is setting the code for different speeds also. may want to check the cooling fan relays.

I have a 03 chevy impala keeps overheatin ive changed waterpump thermostat

Ok there are a couple of things to check, first the is to check your fuses for power and also check the relays to make sure thay working the best way to do that is to swap them out with a known good relay, another thing to check is to make sure your cooling fans are working and you can do this by turning on your A/C to verify both cooling fans are running at high speed if thay do not turn on tap the back of the fans motor to see if it turn on, If it starts to turn and then stop the you have to replace what ever one is bad. Good luck!

Apparently the whine is car speed related and not engine speed. I'm surprised that you didn't say anything about checking the wheel bearings?
