Dealer only they use encrypted software on later models from 2005 and although you have a OBDII plug under dash its only for show or the american market for the emisions test ,The actual diagnostic plug is under the bonnet with a fancy shape thats copyrighted so no made up bits for aftermarket readers.Doesnt help general mechanics like myself much

What does SBS mean, it is lite up on my dashboard

I think you mean either ABS or SRS.
ABS refers to the braking system so this would need investigation....I.e.check brake fluid reservoir and for signs of leaks round brake pipes and wear on pads.
SRS supplemental restraint system...usually airbag warning light. They should go out after 5 seconds on start.sometime they can be reset by using various techniques like leaving the driver door open...turning the ignition on but not starting the car... Then pressing the door light switch button on bottom of driver door opening 5 or 6 or 7 times and turning off ignition All within 10 seconds.(you may need to experiment with this number )always hold the door light button in on last count whilst turning ignition off.then close door restart car.wait 5-7 seconds then it will reset unless there is actually a problem with airbag.this can occur when you disconnect battery or replace battery.the interruption can
alter airbags sensor.also some sensors are housed in the horn component of car horn and the spring on horn can interfere with the sensors normal operation. So did you recently remove battery or use horn excessively ?finally if it is an airbag fault and the light remains on it may mean your airbag will not deploy and your seat belts won't lock in a collision in that event to get to a garage.if thus is of help please vote thank you.

Engine light on hard start after refuelling 2007 caddy dts

Try resetting the check engine light by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes (While the battery is disconnected turn your key on and off a few times and run through some switches on the dashboard to drain out any remaining power that might still be in the system). If your vehicle is equipped with a backup power source for memory purposes it could take a bit longer. Reconnect your battery and everything should be reset as far as warning lights. If the check engine light comes back on i would say you have an unrelated issue.

I tried to reset the engine light by disconnecting the battery cable. When I put it back on the car wont start and gage needles are jumping

As I know disconnecting battery cable cannot reset engine light.
Engine light on caused by a fault code remained in the OBD system. You have to clear the fault code to reset engine light.
But before that, I suppose to have your car checked first to make sure there's nothing wrong.

Good luck.

Having problem boosting my 2002 buick lesabre

Sounds like the last car I bought with"no problems!"
Start with a charged battery and clean all corrosion off cable connections before installing and tightening. Check your battery ground for a clean tight connection.
O.K., key on...still no check engine light/airbag light? You sure it's the bulbs out and not something disconnected? Try starting it. Does it crank over normally? If nothing, you mayhave a fuse out or something wrong in the power distribution center in the engine compartment. Check your fuses. There may be another center or box, too, with fuses, besides the one. Post back if you need more help. Cheers.

Sounds to me like one of the air bag sensors may have tripped, causing the airbag computer to think the vehicle has been wrecked. Take the vehicle to a dealership and have them reset the air bag sensors to get rid of the light.

Airbag light is on. I unplugged a plug to gain access to the daytime running light control box. Plugged everything back in and now the airbag light is on in the dash

Give your computer a reset. Disconnect the battery terminals (positive and negative) for about 15-20 minutes. When time passes, put them back on wait 10 minutes and give it a try. Everything in the computer should be reset and you should have no more blinking air bag indicator. Hope this helps!

Airbag light on instrument panel flashes then stays illuminated

Some vehicles you can disconnect the battery for 10-20 mins and it usually resets a check engine light. But the airbag light is different. This means there is something wrong with the airbag system and it will not go out until maintenance.

Flashing Airbag light

When you disconnected the battery you set a code in the airbag diagnostic module (loss of system voltage), you will have ot manually clear the code out to turn out the light.
