You need a new car; preferably not a Ford.

There is an idle control valve in the air intake circuit that gets dirty. Ford says not to clean this valve but to replace it. However cleaning seems to work for me.

Starts goes to 1500 rpm then stalls

Check engine light? I would check the EGR valve and PDFE senor to make sure its not stuck open since this controls idle speed. If it is stuck slightly open car will rev then stall motor does not know idle speed when open. Valve should be closed only time it opens is when your driving down the road.

Car turns over then stalls.

try cleaning the throttle body (use an old toothbrush and some carb cleaner) and disconnect battery for a few minutes. If that doesnt help, you may need to replace the IAC valve. (idle air control)
