Question about Dodge Sprinter

1 Answer

I came from Vancouver, BC and at Nipawin, SK. When I come over the Rocky Mountains, the accelerator didn?t work properly even I pushed down fully. After while, the yellow warning light for engine problem on the instrument panel is on. And it can run up to 100km/hr on flat road, up to 120km/hr on downhill and speed is became down to 50 ~ 70 km/hr depends on uphill. After I take a rest about 20 to 30 minutes, first 5 to 7minutes the accelerator works( at this time I can hear the sound ?shaaaa? = sound like **** the fuel and seems like need more fuel goes in to the engine) however smoke from the exhaust much. After that the symptom is gone back to same. There is no dealer shop even certified mechanics.

When coming to stop, transmission doesn't shiftt down to 1st as it should, there is a little jerd and it feels almost as if the brake is on. when accelerator is pushed down from stopped position it is...

This is normally caused by a faulty speed sensor in the transmission not allowing the computer on broad to know the proper mph the vehicle is travling for the right shift points.Try replacing the main speed sensor on the transmission located near the rear of the tailshaft and let me know from there.hope this helps,

I have got a BMW 523i and i have just realised that it overheated yesterday because i have been using the air condition the whole day!! What that could be!! Still the thermostat?? Its okay if the air con...

Could be the radiator is full of bugs or normal road filth that accumulates. How is the coolant level in the radiator. Fill it if low. Were you stalled in traffic? Were you at high altitude, like in the rocky mountains or appalachian mountains. Check radiator cap. They are relatively in-expensive considering the job they do. The cap pressurizes the fluid in the radiator and prevents it from boiling out at higher altitudes or higher temperatures.

Moved from sea level to rocky mountains need to reset computer

The computer would not reset, the manifold absolute pressure sensor would, and I expect it has. Your condition sounds normal, sorry.

I live in Vancouver BC Canada. What viscosity of oil do I put in the engine for winter. I have the original tires, how much air do I keep in the tires?

All tires are different, the air pressure for your specific tire is listed on the tire itself.

I recommend a 5w-20 for cold climates
