Remove the fuel line from engine crank car to see if fuel is being pumped from the tank through the filter and lines. I use wd40 to see if there is a fuel problem as it does knock the engine. More then likely it is the pump is not pumping the correct psi and needs replaced. Hope this helps tim

I have a 2002 Oldsmobile bravado it quit running while I was driving it what

First, try spraying some starter fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, then the problem is in the fuel system. If you hear the pump running, is the fuel gauge working? If it still does not run, then possible ignition problems. Using a scanner would help in determining where the problem is.

04 Buick rendevous. Hit curb and now won't start. Fuel pump kicks on and it's getting spark but will not start. Any ideas?

Is there B+ voltage to the fuel injectors ? Blown fuse's ? Security light lit on the instrument cluster ? If the vehicle will run with you sparying starter fluid in the intake , low or no fuel pressure or injectors not spraying fuel into the engine. Hooking up a fuel pressure test gauge an checking pressure an flow would be the thing to do , not guessing ,because you hear the fuel pump turn on . That does not mean it's making fuel pressure . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Blazer has no fuel pressure but pump kicks on

In the past I have seen fuel pumps that would run on the bench but wouldn't work in the gas tank. Sometimes you can bang on the gas tank and get the pump to start working, the problem is usually bad brushes. In the past I have cut open an electric fuel pump, those little brushes were wore down to the nub.
If you have good voltage and ground at the fuel pump and no pump action, suspect the fuel pump. Fuel filter is good, I didn't look to see if inline fuel filter? Fuel lines aren't clogged? Don't disconnect any fuel lines unless your sure, no fuel pressure.

What can I do to start my truck without spraying starter fluid? Is replacing the fuel pump always necessary?

spraying can pit your pistons and cause untold problems beside starting---======bet fuel consumption is high, have the pump serviced before it turns into a new engine

Wont start changed fuel pump relay fuse new battery new starter igntion coil still wants to crank but wont hear fuel pump kicking on but nothing jusy trying to fix this will my husband is doing missionary...

Spray some starting fluid into engine intake air duct while crankingengine over. If it tries to start good possiblity fuel pump is bad. (In fuel tank). However if it does not problem lies somewhere other than fuel system

Having problems in the morning starting and now it wont start at all not getting fuel up to the injectors when i spray starter fluid it starts until fluid burns off

Sounds like fuel pump issue. Do you hear the buzzing sound when you turn the key on, it should go for about 2 seconds,( which is the fuel pump priming the system with fuel)? Replace the fuel filter as well when you replace the pump, if it is the pump.

Having problems with 2002 Chevy Silverado staying running. Acts like it isn't getting gas all the time. It cut out going down the hiway picked up again then cut out died and wouldn't start back. Had it...

It's hard to figure out whats going on with out any codes. Im thinking maybe the fuel pump. To check it after it stops and doe'snt start squirt some starting fluid into the carb and see if it wants to start. If it trys to start then it's a fuel problem.

Won't start. turning, but won't fire.

If you think its fuel, spray some starter fluid inthe throttle body. If it fires up, you have a fuel problem, otherwise, check your spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Also, check your fuses.

1995 buick lesabre limited, cranks but wont start...what should i do?

May be fuel related or ignition related:

Fuel: Obtain a can of "starting fluid" from an auto supply store. Spray directly into air intake for two seconds. If car "kicks" and trieds to start, then the problem is fuel-related. If you spray more, then it may start.
Could be: Fuel filter or fuel pump.

Ignition: Remove a sparkplug cable and lay it down on a metal part of the engine. Have someone crank the starter while you look for a spark from the cable end to the engine. If no spark, it could be several things:
distributor rotor, distributor cracked and/or wet on the inside, ignition coil.
