There is no valve adjusting to be done, I expect what you are hearing are lifters that have begun to fail, very common on the 3.0 liter. These can be replaced with common garage tools however you'll need to remove the rocker arms, on a 1-10 basis I'd give this job a 6.5 on a dificulty rating.
Please let me know if I may assist further.
Best regards,
Tom

Toyota paseo engine ticking

Lifter may be worn or cam lobe is worn and is probably due a timing belt replacement as well.Sounds like just a high mileage problem lots of people complain of valve train noise from these engines its not uncommon. I would use a high mileage engine oil to help with the noise but i am afraid the noise is only going to get worse over time you may look into salvage engine with a warranty or having the engine rebuilt it sounds like it is already burning oil. The valve lash can be adjusted on this engine but if your not a mechanic i do not recommend this, it is very sensitive procedure and can damage the engine permanently. Take it to a shop have them check your valve lash and adjust it for the noise issue to save yourself some time and money on a very costly repair with improperly adjusted valve lash. Remember to rate my solution Thanks in advance.

2008 ford taurus X climate control system not changing functions

I have the same car and just fixed the exact same problem you just described.
It is NOT a vacuum problem. The blend door is electronically controlled my a small motor under the dash, to the right of the steering column. The clicking is coming from a stripped gear in that small motor unit.
On my Taurus X, what caused the motor to fail was the blend doors (which open and close depending on what your vent setting is on) getting stuck. That caused the motor gears to strip out and make a clicking sound every time the automatic climate control tried to move the blend doors.
The fix required a substantial amount of the dashboard to be taken apart. The blend doors were re adjusted and the motor control unit replaced.
I had the Ford dealership do the repair and it cost me $450. (Ouch!)
To make sure that's your problem, you can follow the clicking sound. You'll have to get on your back and look under the dash on the drivers side. Have somebody press the defrost button to cause the clicking sound. Once you find the small unit you can actually feel the gears slipping when it makes the clicking sound. It's really tight under there though and you'll probably need a flashlight.

What could be making a loud clicking sound toward the back of the motor in a 2002 Grand Am and how can it be resolved.

The only thing that could be making a loud clicking sound, is a bad valve lifter. If the clicking speeds up with speed of the motor, it's a valve lifter, either the rocker arm needs to be adjusted, or the lifter needs replacing. Which means the whole top part of the engine needs to come off.

My 04 navigator left power seat wont move any direction and pedal adjust wont move...there is a clicking sound coming from a black box under seat but no function

it does not appear that the driver seat or adjustable pedal share anything in common

furthermore, the sound you hear clicking may be the actual seat motor trying to work, but lets do a quick test

try to move the seat up/down, forward/back and any combination. If while holding the button in said position and you consistently hear the clicking sound that follow the sound and touch the motor under your seat. If you feel the "clicking" then your seat motor is bound or siezed and will need repair.

if instead you just hear one click then you might be experiencing a relay problem

As for the pedal adjustment... have you checked fuse #109 (30A) @ the CJB (Central Junction Box) behind the right kick panel?

Motor makes a pecking sound at 2000 rpm only under a load.does not do it while reving parked

Noise out of the engine. Noisy valves? Low oil level? Is the sound like tick, tick, tick, tick......that's how bad valves sound. I don't know if you have solid lifters those have to be adjusted after some mileage. Hydraulic ones are self adjusting. Only a good mechanic can tell for sure.

Engine noise that makes my 2002 Saturn Vue V6 AWD sound like a diesel. Could it be a rocker arm that needs adjustment? If so, what repair cost am I looking at?

it could be a rocher arm, or it could be the timing chain tensioner, mostly it the rocker on those they make it sound like the motor is going to blow, to have the rocker checked and adjusted i beleive is about $180.00. good luck.

Valves Yeah. Put Some Valve Cleaner In Your Gas You Can Buy It At Pretty Much Any Auto Parts Store For About $5.00 If This Doesnt Fix It You May Need A Valve Adjustment.

A Valve Adjustment If Done Yourself Will Take A Repair Manual, Feeler Gauges And A Wrench.

The Timing Chain Is Usually A Steady Scrapping Sound.
