Question about Kia Sportage

1 Answer

I have a 20063 Kia Sportage that was recently serviced. Since I got it back I also moved out of state and noticed that when I tried to spray my windshield wiper fluid I could hear the motor but nothing comes out. I checked the fuse and it was fine. I completely filled the fluid and could see the blue fluid in the windshield wiper container and tried to squirt it again several times and my windshield wiper fluid light came on. I determined if I do not squirt it there is not a leak and it is held in the container properly but when I squirt it all of it leaks out underneath my car. Could there be a lose hose? If so where do I look and is it something you can tell me how to fix myself without having to take it back to another dealer? Since I recently relocated I am not working yet and need to watch expenses. Thanks for any help or advice you can give!!

You are on the problem from what I read. The fluid goes from the tank, through the motor you hear, and out through small tubing to the "nozzles" that spray your windshield. I'm sure one end fell off, but you will have to search it down. Follow the hose if you can, as you may have to move some covers or parts, but look close and you may see the problem.

Kia Sorento Manual Issue

I have noticed several post that request information on "How To..." for the Kia Sorento doesn't appear to have a repair manual for several year models. Except for the 2005 Year model I was able to locate a manual at www.carpartswholesale.com. After doing some review I found that for the most part the Sorento is based on the Kia Sportage until the 2010/2011 year when it moved away from that truck based format to a crossover category. For most repairs you should be able to use the manual for the Sportage. Exceptions to this would be the setting of Timing marks. For that information it is going to take a lot more work and digging.

Why won't my hatchback close on my 2007 Kia Sportage?

It is possible that the latch mechanism is stuck and needs to be freed. Spray some penetrating oil into it and try to loosen the mechanism.

I have a kia sportage diesel 2002, it acelarates by self, without stepping on gas. What could be the problem?

May want to check the throttle cable. Sounds like it is sticking. You can spray sum WD-40 on it that usually helps. The throttle cable is the piece that moves when the gas pedal is pressed. Near the intake on top of engine normally.

How do you get the top bolts out of the front calipers on a 2000 Kia sportage 4 WD. they are rusted in and won't budge with an impact wrench. I was told not to heat them.

You could try product called PB blaster spray. you can buy it at an auto parts store. Wack the bolts a couple of times then spray it on and let it sit for about an hour then try to loosen them again.
