Just curious, how does it die.....does it just stop or loses power completely as you are driving along.....and does the car start right back up again or do you have to wait until it cools down ???
ok....does the engine light come on......or have you noticed anythin else happening.....so it only happens when engine is hot.....
No engine light don't come on, and it does not overheat. Don't notice anything else happening.
Ok...the explanation......your vehicle has an engine ecu and is fuel injected.......and the timing of the spark is provided by the ecu, which triggers an ignition module housed inside your distributor......heat increases resistance which opposes electron flow......so as your engine heats up (normal operating temperature), the ignition module is breaking down and ou lose the spark to the spark plugs........
my suggestion is to purchase a second hand distributor assembly and swap it out as a unit, as to remove and disassemble the distributor to get to the ignition module, would be labour intensive, and you would require some mechanical knowledge to be able to do this......
the ignition module was also replaced. It still does the same thing. we let it run for about 20 minutes, then it died.
ok....then what the next step to do is if you have a scan tool and put it onto 'monitor mode' and what you need to do is scroll down to crank angle sensor, camshaft sensor and see if when the engine stops, the readings on these sensors fail as well...... i would not suggest any further replacement of components because it would be guesswork....the ignition module is common to fail thats why i suggested this......if you do not have this tool, i would employ the services of a mechanic who does and use him for diagnosis only !!!!

it looses power then dies, and no it don't start right back up, have to wait till it cools down.
