Question about Subaru Legacy
I'm not familiar with Subarus, but most cars, the bulbs are changed from inside the trunk, there may be a cover plate, then the sockets plug into the rear of the reflector, usually a one-quarter turn twist.
If it is a wagon, it may be like my mini-van, you open the tailgate and there are fasteners beside the taillight lens in the tailgate opening. It may require a thin flat screwdriver to lift the head of the fastener up, then pull the entire fastener out, this lets the lens and reflector assembly come out.
You might want to drop by the parts counter of your Subaru dealer, they might be able to show you a diagram of how to do it.
