If my gas gauge doesnt work can it just be a fuse

Doubt it.
The same fuse for the gauge would handle the rest of the cluster.
Probably the sending unit in the tank.

My 1999 grand jeep cherokee gas gauge is messed up I think. I had a quarter of a tank then 5 min later it slipped to empty and the gas light came on. It seems my gas has been going really fast. Do u think...

It is not unheard of for the gas tank sending unit to have a float stick indicating more fuel was there than there truly was.

If you do not get a strong gas odor outside of vehicle, the chance of it being a leaking fuel line is very small, and you would smell it.

If it has been a while since a runeup- it cannot hurt. It will not resolve the sticking float issue though.

If it should occur again- note the temperature gauge because they source from the same regulator that mounts on the dashboard cluster; if the regulator is bad, the temperature gauges reads erroneously..

I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee Jeep Truck I just purchased and the gas gauge is not working it's on empty even when fill it up!

Check the Fuel Sending Unit in the fuel pump. Disconnect the wire to the sending unit, at the tank, and ground it to the car frame. Turn the key to on and see if the fuel gauge goes to Full. If it does the gauge and wire are good and the problem is in the sending unit. If it's still on E the gauge is bad or the wire is open.

1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee gas gauge reads empty but tank is full.

Fuel level sending units are known to go bad on these.
