Replace the main relay. They run hot and with hot internal temps of the vehicle, they fail until they are cooled down. Opening the door or windows allows the hot air to evacuate, this in turn cools the inside of the car (and relay), then the car starts.

Take your mass air flow sensor off and clean the small thin wires inside with a non-chlronated brake cleaner then let it dry for 10 minutes then re-install.

During my traveling 40 miles each day to work and back, my 1991 Accord simply stops running while going down the road. I have to pull off the road and continue trying to start it, sit and wait, sometimes...

Have you replaced the main power relay? It's what causes the 90's Accords to just suddenly shut off and not want to start back for a few. Also, how old is your distributor? It's another problem part on those Accords, that has all these sensors inside that go bad.

My honda guit running and won't start. it has pfi. it's 91 accord.

1. Check your battery to make sure it is not rusted, leaking, and has a charge 2. Jump start your battery with another car, even if you believe the battery is good, this often times will still start your car. 3. If your engine is cold, and you have an older car, ensure to get your fuel lines to the engine flushed or have fuel injection service performed 4. The engine tends to warp the same way wood does during the extreme cold, do not be afraid to continue trying to warm up the engine by constant cranks with it is cold out. Your not going to hurt the car, the worse that could happen is too much fuel will enter the carborator and cause flooding in the system to occur. Wait 20 minutes if this happens and start to crank again 5. Bad spark plugs are a major reason why many cars take a very long time to start 6. Please have your spark plugs removed and exchanged for new ones. Over time, spark plugs become fowled and prevent the car from starting even thou you hear cranking!!!

It cranks but won't fire. After letting it sit for 15 minutes it starts right up. This happens without regularity. It usually starts without a problem and then on the 7th to 10th time it will only crank...

A FEW TESTS NEED TO BE DONE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM,FUEL INJECTORS,SPARK PLUGS,TUNE-UP,ETC.
I HAVE HAD SIMILAR INCIDENTS WITH SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A DIRTY AND I MEAN DIRTY FUEL FILTER.

THE BEST WAY TO FIND THE FUEL FILTER WOULD BE TO FIND THE FUEL FILTER WOULD BE CHECK ALL THE LINES AND PIPES FROM THE GAS TANK AND TRACING THEM BACK AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND THE FUEL FILTER.MOST OF THEM ARE LOCATED ON THE REAR DRIVER-SIDE AREA NEAR THE REAR TIRE.
