Question about GMC Sierra 1500
Unfortunately, this light cannot be reset without taking the vehicle to dealer. I understand the frustration, however this is not a DIY. I wish there should be a way to bypass, however as of now i have never heard of any bypass for this.
This could be anything from a fault with a front end discriminating sensor to the sensing diagnostic module, to even a faulty with one of the air bag modules or the wiring to and from these items. The only way you are going to be certain is by hooking up a scan tool and checking the sensing diagnostic module for trouble codes. This requires a scan tool that can read body failure codes such as the inflateable restraint system. If you have access to one of these tools and can retrieve and post the associated trouble code or codes I can really begin to assist you. I wish I could tell you there was another way but there just is not.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Check the passenger side seat belt buckle If its faulty then the buckle needs to be replaced.Other possibility is a bad sensor in the passenger seat. There is no reset, you have to take it to a repair shop and get the codes read to see what is causing the light to come on.Usually just a sensor. When it is repaired the shop can use a scan tool to reset the light. This would be the the only way to reset the light.its advisable to get car scanned at diagnosis
center to get error codes, At diagnosis center you will receive the error
code.As per the error code it will detect the exact faulty part in the car due
to which the problem is occurring. For more help :--- at www.autozone.com its
absolutely free to get car scanned.
