Question about 1993 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

1993 Isuzu rodeo won't start after installing another engine. Everything is good except no spark from the coils. They were workitng fine before removing the old engine. All wires checked ok, the coils too. So I'm going to replace the control module ignition but I can't believe it could be gone just like that. Any idea would help. Thanks!

I have the same problem but i did not replace the engine. my 1993 isuzu rodeo 3.2 liter 2wd is doing the SAME THING. it all started when i bought the car and noticed at night the back door dome light was staying on even with the door shut. i used a bolt to temp. fix it until i could get a switch. after a few weeks i was driving and my car just died. i got a jump start and took it to my garage and charged the batery on a low charge. the next day it started and i drove it just out of town and it just quit. i took the batter home, charged it, and it would start. i noticed the positive cable was extremely coroded. i replaced the cable and after that it wouldnt start at all. it would just turn over and not get a spark. it would crank and not start. i check the fuel pump and filter and it was clicking. i took my altanator out and had it tested and it failed. i tested the spark plugs and NO SPARK. then i replaced the 3 solinoids, and the panel the solinoids sit on with new parts from auto zone. im lost too.

oh, and one time i sprayed the engine at the car wash and the solinoids or spark plugs startet staticing! but it still ran after that. that is why i thought the solinoids or panal they sit on fried out.

Amigo,Trooper II , Rodeo & Pickup
On Rodeo, Amigo, and Pickup (except 1993-95 models W/3.2L engine), connect the single wire diagnostic leads located behind the left hand kick panel together. On 1993-95 Rodeo models W/3.2 engine, the data link is located under the left hand side of the instrument panel. On all models, turn the ignition switch to the On position. At this point, the "Check Engine" light should flash. codes

I have a rodeo/isuzu 4ze1-a recently replaced the MAF sensor and ended up with no spark.. Power to coil and out but no power to distributer.. Replaced distributer and still no luck... All relays and fuses...

you said your not getting spark..... double check that all of your plug wires are firmly attached ... you could possibly have a bad coil pack .

Im trying to install a tacho into my 1993 holden rodeo and i dont know where to put the revs wire as the isuzu engine 2.6 doesnt have a coil where do i connect the wire Cheers Dano

Hi Dano,

For installing the tacho on a vr there should be a single wire not pluged into anything, on your wire loom under the bonet on the LHS, this is the wire you need..

Please let us know if that was helpful enough.

Thanks

Shiv.
