Question about 1994 Lincoln Continental

Open Question

1994 Lincoln Continental Executive. First problem was that dash lights in heater control, clock, and console shifting areas stopped working. Several months later, the rest of the instrument cluster lights started alternating between dimming and normal. Replaced instrument cluster and now Check DCL is displaying as well as beeping sound. Any ideas where to start and also are the lights in the heater control area and the console shifting area under control of the instrument cluster? BTW - mechanic has rechecked connections and says they are good although he couldn't find if or where the heater control and console areas hook into the instrument cluster. Thanks! Marca Snook

the vehicle module sees a problem and without a scanner to retrieve the proper codes, it will be hard to correctly diag your problem....best to have a dealer/shop check that first.... GL

SOURCE: 1990 lincoln continental cluster does not work.

There are, I believe 3 dial knobs to the left of the steering wheel. One is for the interior lights (dash, etc.), One is for the exterior lights, and without looking, one is a timer/or off dial. You can adjust the length of time that the lights stay on, or go off. You can also set for the exterior lights to come on/turn off automatically.

SOURCE: where is the location of DCL on a 92 lincoln

both answers are correct for the "DLC", I believe the DCL is a function or error message indicating a communication problem with the Dashboard module and the PCM module. The DLC is located where "tedpineywood" said it is.

SOURCE: loud noise from under the dash, ac/heater area. No cool air 97 li

If this noise is a clicking sound and is coming from the front center of the dash, then it may be the blender door motor which will require removal of the dash to replace it. It will keep the door from switching from heat to a/c. Does the odor smell like you have a freon leak in your a/c evaporator core or does it smell like a rat stuck in your heater and a/c ducts?

Speedometer light only is very dim on the dash of 1994 Lincoln Continental?

This isn't the kind of problem that can be easily (and cheaply) fixed in ten minutes, in your own garage. Has a Lincoln dealer/mechanic looked at it yet? It might be worth it to pay their diagnostic fee, just to find out if it CAN be fixed...and a ballpark figure on what it's gonna cost! Sometimes when these digital displays go bad, the only thing you can do is replace them--but where do you find a good one? When the driver's side electric window regulator on my Continental went bad, the dealer had no access to a 'new' one--they told me to find a used one at a junkyard!

Looking for my 1994 lincoln continental flasher. signal lights not working

The turn signal flasher is located in the front seating area, on the drivers side, under the dash on the drivers side of the steering column and it's mounted on the fuse panel. I believe for your vehicle there is one for the turn signals and a separate one for the flashers. I hope this helps you and good luck.

A common problem in the continental (my 95 had the same problem). You can TRY to reset the error. The link below lists step by step instructions for the error reset. Best of luck.
