Im trying. To use a 91 ford t bird. 5.0 in to a 65 mustang but this engine. Has two humps in the oil pan and it hits the steering linkage can I che the pan for a one that has one hump?

OIL PAN WOULD BE HARD TO INTERCHANGE.PROBABLY WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING SYSTEM.OR BEST TO TRY A DIFFERENT ENGINE.YOU NEED TO LOOK AT OLDER ENGINE FROM 1965 TO 1970S MODELS.

Check out faxonautoliterature. They have the original Pontiac service manual for your car, also wiring diagrams. This should help get you going again. I've used them before and had excellent service. Hope this helps.

Need spark plug wiring diagram for 1965 ford

Try this. If the distributor is in the right way, the clips that hold the cap on should be just a hair off of 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock. #1 is positioned at 1 o'clock, which is at the firewall side of the distributor. The firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8and is counterclockwise from #1. The passenger's side is cylinders 1-2-3-4, from the front of the car. The driver's side is 5-6-7-8 from the front. Hope this will help.

Replacing the steering box on a 1965 Mustang. Having trouble removing box from car. It looks easier to lift the motor out of the way. The shaft is part of the box!!!

You should not have to remove the engine to remove the steering box. If you have headers on that side you may want to remove the headers. You may also have to loosen or remove the steering column to get the angle right to drop the steering box. Good luck.

Ignition switch diagram 65 mustang

If its not on the steering column, you can figure it out using an ohmeter on the switch leads. Actually, you could figure out the one on the column that way too! just think about what the switch does in each position and attach wires that do it to the post that does it! IE: starter solenoid wire goes to post that is hot when key is turned all the way to start. Main hotlead is the one that is common to all switch positions. run and accessories is to the post that is hot with key on, accessory only is the one only hot with key turned backwards.
