Question about 1997 Ford Taurus
I would stop driving it until you have a trans shop check it out.
If you have no record of fluid changes over the years or it has 120,000 miles on it,you may figure it will need to be rebuilt.
Maybe able to make an adjustment,but I wouldn't have high hopes on it.
