Driver side window stays down. I know it is off the track. I need to know how to get the interior door liner off.

Window has fallen out of track that moves it up and down. Inner door panel must be removed and glass has to be reset into track with glue.

you will need to take off door panel and roll the window down. You should be able to look inside and see the tracks it rolls up and down on. disconnect from tracks and pull old window out the top of door, slide new window in and hook to tracks, should be very easy to install on such an older truck.

is this rolled up or down?
Normally the guide tracks have a liner that holds the glass very securely.
If the window rattles when it is rolled down then I would be suspicious that a healthy sized chunk of the liner has broken off of both sides. OR something else is loose in the door perhaps bumping the glass or the liner or perhaps a supporting screw for the track has come loose.
The only way to know for sure is to pull the door panel off and give it a good inspection. Wriggle it as best you can. Nothing should really be loose in there when it comes to window regulators etc.

I am guessing you have power windows. Happens to mine sometimes.
Slam the door a couple to few times, see if that doesn't put the window back on "track". I mentioned this to the dealership a while back and they were going to charge about $90 to pop off the interior part of the door and put it back on track. They said it "builds up dirt".
I actually also toggle the window switch a few times to see if it will move slightly and then do my door slam thing a couple to few times. I seem to get this problem when it rains.

I would imagine you're going to attempt to replacing the window track.

First you need to remove the rubber cover that sits at the bottom of the side slot you use to close the door. Beneath you will find 2 Phillips screws that need to be removed. I usually place all screws on the floor or change holder.
Remove the door light on the bottom of the door closest to the back seat , which simply pops out and unplugs carefully of course then push it back thru the holes inside.
Pull the door handle while using a flat head screw driver and work the plastic surround behind the handle until it pops free and out towards the 3 o'clock catch. The catches are roughly at 1oclock 3 oclock and nine o'clock if that helps
It is made of a very durable plastic so a little assertion wont hurt, while being careful against the doors lining using your flathead screwdriver.
From the bottom closest to the front , firmly pull the door lining outward you will hear a crack as if something broke. Not to worry , those are the 7 or so plastic pieces that secure the liner to the door. Carefully continue until you can see doors interior , keeping in consideration the electrical hookups on the right bottom. Free the door by unplugging the blue plug.
Access to the window requires removing the plastic cover on the top left side slowly pulling back the gum behind that secures it to the doors interior.

Had this problem with a Mazda years ago. Solved it by removing the door liner and putting the glass back in its track. Door liner usually held in place by combination of screws and clips. If uncertain how to remove liner, ck online or in Sundance repair manual for instructions on removing door liner.

you must pull door panel off (you can find the tool at any parts deals) then lift the window up with hands only it is hard but can be done get some one to hold the window glass up and check to see if any parts have fall if so put back on or replace. if not missing clean track and crank up to glass and line up. wind up and down to make sure it stay and then re-place door panel. hope this works it did for me on my 95 contour

disconnect the battery. remove the door lock knob. remove the bezel around the interior door latch by sliding the bezel towards the front of the car. carefully pry off the air bag logo. There is a torx screw under it - remove said screw. Carefully pry off the two screw covers under the door pull - there are two torx screws under these two covers - remove the screws. With a flexible flat spackling tool, caerfuly run the tool around the door cover, releasing the clips that hold the cover to the door. lift the door cover away from the door, and disconnect the front speakers. disconnect and remove the airbag. Carefully remove the foam liner, exposing the window mechanism.  Carefully pry up and remove the drip rail from the interior side of the window. re-install the air bag (else you'll set an error code) and reconnect the battery. Run the window up or down as needed to expose the connection between the window and the lifter mechanism. disconnect the clips on the two sliders that run in the channel on the metal clip attached to the bottom of the window and carefully press that slider towards the door - which will unclip the slider from the lifter mechanism. Now the window should pull up and out of the car.
replacing the window is the reverse of all this, making sure the window is aligned in the tracks inside the door so that it goes up and down smoothly.
All I need now is to figure out how to adhere that track to the bottom of the window - that's what broke on my car - something that will adhere to the glass and metal!

Yes. I have fixed my driver side window several times. The window went all the way down and came off the track, usually because the window automatically went all the way down. The first step was to take the interior side of the door off: (1) I unscrewed the screws around the door and pull the plastic screws out. (2) I disconnected the thin metal rod that connects the door handle to the door frame to be able to pull the interior part of the door away from the metal frame of the door. (3) I unscrewed the speaker to see where the window meets the rubber track. (4) I kept the electrical wires connected so that I could use the electric window button to lower and raise the window. (5) I lowered the window down below the rubber track and loosened the screw holding the rubber track to the door. (6) I manually adjusted the rubber track around the window glass and pressed the electric window button up slowly, making sure the glass stayed on the track. (7) I put everything back in place, screwed in the screws, etc. Be careful not to let the window go all the way down, because it seems to fall off the track at that point. Hope this helps!
