Its a transmission problem. It needs to be checked. If its out of alignment then it needs to be realigned or its the transmission gear problem. Also get the shifter checked.Add some trans fluid and check if problem gets solved if not then transmission needs to be checked. ---------- Thanks.

Either the trans fluid is two quarts low or the internal clutches are worn or a weak front pump in the transmission

do it when the engine and the trans is removed from the body.
It will be needed to be done this way the same way when it was built new. No room to completely install it without a problem occurring

Check the fluid level. if it is ok you have a worn out reverse apply band, to replace this part requires the trasnmission be torn down and overhauled.

I have 35 years of repair work behind me, I am a Master technician in all phases of automotive repair and diagnosis, you will need an overhaul to correct this problem, it is a classic 1st symptom of a worn out failed automatic transmission, sorry that is not what u want to hear but never the less it is a fact.

You need to replace your TPS (throttle position sensor) it is located on the throttle body of the injection system. This is not a complicated procedure, there are a couple of screws and a couple of plugs. You can get one at just about any auto parts store.

check your fuel line coming from tank. That is were it came from on my 94 gxe. at higher rpms the fuel pump puts out more pressure and if the hose is loose or cracked it leaks a little.

Check for vaccume leaks and also you PCV valve. check the hose too. Visually inspect every vaccume hose you can find. Sounds like a leak .

if this car has an automatic transmission, i would verify the fluid is full and clean. if manual trans, clutch? the fuel filter in this car may be in the fuel tank and is not serviceable. otherwise could be located near air filter housing or firewall. is the service engine lite on?? if so, that should indicate a direction to go.
