What Pin? Your sending unit is most likely worn out,on a 19 year old vehicle. Pull gas tank and replace complete assy,fuel pump and all,while your there.
push the gas nozzle all the way in and maybe the anti theft flaps are stuck easy fix stick a long screwdriver in filler tube to see if they are stuck or if they are jammed in filler tube if screwdriver doesn't detect obstruction try a wire hanger witch is longer and skinnier
Replace the fuel sensor / sending unit, it is inside the gas tank, it is a lot of work to drop the gas tank, I have done it on other cars... If you want to do it make sure the tank is almost empty it is very heavy with all that gas inside make sure there is no open flames or cigarretes close

This is a common problem. On the driver's side frame rail is a large black plastic assembly that the fuel lines connect to. This a fuel switching valve what usually happens is the valve goes bad and the fuel gets pumped from one tank to the other
The switch that you use to change tanks is probably faulty - the switch
supplies power for the sending unit in the tank, and to the transfer
switch for the gas lines - use a meter to check it
