If it works then leave alone unless its leaking bad then you want to find the leak ,for this a high pressure STEAM cleaner ,with hot water not a garden thing ,mix some diesel with washing up liquid and spray over engine ,leave a while then steam clean

I have found oil in my spark plug well (cups). cy 1

The oil will be originating higher up on the motor. Most likely you have an oil leak in the Cam cover gasket and some of the oil is running down and pooling in the spark plug cavity. Cam cover gaskets often need to be replaced periodically in any event and you do have a 14 yo car. It is difficult to be certain without inspecting your engine but that is where I would look first. Just carefully soak up the oil in the cavity with some paper towel and cloths. (If the cam cover gasket has been replaced previously you may get a leak eventually because they are often not tightened evenly at the correct torque setting or are over tightened and the cover can distort and the gasket can be over compressed).

Once you have cleaned up the oil around the S/plug , if you then clean the engine around that area and above it thoroughly you may be able to spot the source of the oil leak once the new oil starts running out. Just tip a small amount of kerosene or degreaser on your cleaning cloths and work around the engine with the dampened cloths to remove oil and grime. Then inspect the engine after a few hours of running and see if you can see where the oil is coming from.

How do you lube fron end of a 2000 LincolnTowncar Executive

You need a grease gun and grease. Locate all grease "zerks" on upper & lower ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.. Clean of dirt & grime build-up off zerks, push grease gun on and give a few pumps, then on to next zerk.

Corolla acceleration drops It runs for 5-10 minutes and then slowly acceleration start dropping and smoke starts coming from somewhere in engine (front left side). I am not sure if fuel pump is gone or...

I would suggest you to check the following

1) Carburetter (Flooding/Linkages/Overflow/Butterfly Vanes)
i) Air-Filter Assy. open and clean, check for leaks/holes
ii) Fuel Delivery System
iii) Fuel Tank for rust/sediments
iv) The grime on the carb can be from regular running and if the carb floods, then gummy petrol smelling deposit.
v) Also Check the Distributor Advance/******.
vi) If there is grime inside the carb, then the air-filter has a leak.

2) For the transfer-case
2A) Check if the oil on the T-Case is gear-oil (sulphur smell) or black/brown Engine Oil.

2B)If it is Engine Oil then you may have a problem with your
i) Crank Case

ii) PCV Valve - Postive Crankcase Ventilation Valve

iii) Main Bearing Seals, this is the worst case, indicated by the clutch becoming slippery i.e engine oil on the clutch pate & Assy.

2A ii) Check and clean the Breather Plugs. If the Plugs are blocked, then while running, the oil heats up and the hot air/gasses cannot escape, thereby creating a High Pressure inside the T-Case and vent through the oil-seals or weaker joints (sealing).

iii) After Cleaning the Breather if there is Gear Oil on the T-Case after running, service the T-Case.

Oil pressure light stays on and engine is ticking loud. Pwr low

yes there is a oil pump in your engine you need to change the oil every 3000 miles or three months this will keep your engine clean but as far as help go all i can tell is that you need to take your car to a good shop and have them check out the inside of the engine so may have a serious problem.

Loss of Engine oil

The car either has to be leaking oil, or burning it out the exhaust. You should check to see if there is oil on the bottom of the engine. If clean, it can be burning oil cause rings or shot, emisssion system sucking it back through the engine, etc. Your engine should be in good condition since only 55K miles, unless it got overheated or something. Hope this is a place for you to start, Rick

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.

Hi I have a 2001 hyundai accent, the car it drinking alot of engine oil and there is no leak or excess exhaust fumes - this yellow check engine light is also always on. What would this indicate?

Take it to a shop that can read the codes from the computer. It's called an OBD scan. As for the oil problem there is only 2 ways it can be leaving the engine. 1 is that it's being burned which is will have blueish smoke coming from the exhaust. 2 is a leak. I always try to park on some clean cardboard and that makes it easy to see the drops. If it doesn't leak while just sitting there have it run for 15mins while on the cardboard. Oh and 3 someones letting it out. Do you have any enemies?
