Hello. I recommend that you purchase the repair manual for your vehicle. This 30 dollar investment will answer all of your questions. The fact that the mechanic did not have access to it is a wee bit surprising. Go to your local book store, or auto parts store to order the manual or go to this on line link.

Dont know about a diagram ,but their is only one that makes engine run and thats the one to the advance unit on teh distributor ,their will be another to the air filter for the cold air /hot air valve on intake air pipe .another one for the brake serve ,that comes straight from the inlet manifold ,the other two come from the base of the carb ,you may have another one for the cruise control if fitted .If its auto then their is a vacumn feed to the gearbox change valve control on the side of the autobox .If it has aircon then a feed to the operating controls for that ,thats about all i think for now unlkess it has vacumn operated door locks as well for the central door locking like the old mercs
Due to the age we DO NOT have any diagrams for this car of the vacuum system, there is a site that for a modest price u can obtain all this information and have access to the complete factory service manual
