I would drill on the driverside, make sure to use rubber insulator around the hole, drill near open area where theres nothing inside, like to the left of steering column.

Car amp wireing pwr cable tips.

Lets start first with running pwr wire. Keep all wires as short as possible to cut down on resistance to the flow of power through the strands. Run the pwr. down the same side as the battery. Drill a hole in the firewall, being careful not to hit any wires or a/c pipes. Insert a rubber grommet into the hole to keep from shorting out wire against chassis. Hide wire in a protected area under carpet, all the way back to ware amp is to be mounted. leave extrea lay and come baec to it.

Now the ground or B - . This is ware most people mess up. Most shops woll screw the GND terminal to metal in the trunk with a 2 foot wire. Wrong.... KEEP THIS ONE AS SHORT AS POSSEBLE. I use a Seat belt bolt and 0awg here. Take seatbelt, or another bolt that is directly connected to frame (unibody in newer cars), and wire brush all the paint off until you see shiny bare metal, bolt back on. when wiering to amp try to keep under 8 -10 " .

Go back to PWR wire, cut off extrea leaving about 10 -12" of slack after hiding wires. connect to amp. Now go to PWR cable under hood. Zip tie wire to secure it from grounding out on manifolds or anything else. you have to install a fuse or circuit breaker as close to the battery as possible not being further than 10" from battery. this ensures if PWR wire shorts out it will blow fusw ot trip breaker rather than catch your wire and vehicle on fire. Remote wire goes to B+ swiched, like blue wire on head unit or an accessory fuse. run RCA's down other side of vehicle to reduec noise. Install fuse. there you are. KEEP ALL WIRES AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE.

I have a 2002 Toyota Camry LE V6. I wanted to run a power wire to my amplifier in the trunk but can not find a pre-existing hole to run it from the battery through the firewall. I was wondering if there is...

Just follow the fuel pump wiring as it's in the trunk and follow it forward as it comes from the box right next to the battery. Take the carpet out of the trunck and the wires your looking for are right at the base of the rear seat back in the middle of the car you can remove the rear seat bottom to see this wire on the way to the front. route your new wire right along with these and go though the same holes they do.

What is the best way to run wires from my battery to inside the cabin to wire in a power converter?

The best or more professional way to run the cables is to drill a hole thru the firewall. You need to use wire ties on the cables and route the cables along the factory wiring harness. Try to route to the shortest distance and use a rubber grommet where you have the hole drilled in the firewall. The grommet will keep the cable from getting damaged by the sharp edges of the hole that you drilled. Also the largest possible diameter cable is better because you will get more amperage to the power inverter. Hope this helps :)

Ususally in lower outside corner of the firewall. You'll have to check for clearance on both side that way you dont drill thru any wires. Also you'll have to pull back little bit of the carpet..Hope I could help

Amp. and Sub install on a 2006 Jeep Gand Cherokee

Your best bet is to actually drill a hole through the firewall and istall a rubber grommet to protect the wire. If this isn't really an option, you might try locating the places the wiring harness and spedometer cable go through the firewall, or where the shifter goes through the transmission tunnel. The main thing is to protect the wire from heat and rubbing against metal. Hope this helps :)

96 Cougar routing amp power cable through firewall.

if you look at the firewall area you usually can see rubber or plastic black plugs to run wiring to the passenger compartment; look by the left side kick panel on the floor next to your brake pedal; good area to drill if you have to ; make sure you insulate any cable or power supply going through the firewall so the wire is protected from rubbing or vibration

Easiest and Most effective Solution is to Drill it out. Get you a Drill Bit a Little Bit Smaller than the Lock itself and Start Drilling till you get thru. BE CAREFUL though! Firewall openings

ive always used the steering colum, just made a hole or went around the boot. look at the firwall for any rubber boots that have access to the inside and squeeze that wire in there. but if all else fails. you can run the wire under the car to the trunk. making sure to keep away from the pipes and using alot of ties to the frame or other. also you would have to drill hole in bottem of trunk then seal the left over room. write back if you have anymore questions, hope this helps.....
