Either the signal lever or the blinking relay are defective. Replace the relay , if this doesn't fix it then replace the lever.

What would cause a 2000 VW Beetle's headlights just to stop working? Everything was fine Wednesday. On further inspection we have found out that we don't have a horn, headlights, blinkers, windshield

recheck the fuses, use an ohm meter that"s the only way to be sure.
if the fuses are ok do the same with the head lights.
a blown fuse is the only reason i know of for such a sudden loss of all the things you mentioned.
hope this helps

Fan, blinkers, headlights, horn won't work, then will -- just intermitten problems. wipers also -- could this be a ground wire problem -- just had fuse panel replaced -=- did't help

vw's have problems with the body electrical control module failing due to water in the vehicle has water in the driverside? the module is under the carpet under the driverside infront of the seat. hopefully its just a bad connection down there..

2000 vw beetle turn signal lights up but no blinking

Sounds like your relay is bad, relay is located in the fuse box area. Please give a 4 THUMBS UP if this free answer was helpful in any way. Good Luck and have a Great Day.

''VW BEETLE FLASHERS WORK BUT BLINKERS DO NOT'' Replaced flasher module because was told it had dual function but blinkers still do not work. Is there another component somewhere or is blinker selector arm...

Check all fuses. Use a test light to check if there is current to the rear bulbs when flashers engaged. If there is, then replace the burnt bulbs. Check for ground at the rear lights.
Do the front marker lights work when engaged??

Fuse box diagram for a 2000 vw beetle

There should be a diagram in your Owner's Manual. I have one for my daughter's 1998 Beetle that should be the same as in the 2000 Beetle. Can email it to you if you post an email address that I can send it to.

On my 2001 VW Beetle, what causes the blinkers to stop working after the first blink? If it's the fuse which fuse will it be? Also, what causes the cigarette lighter/charger to quit working?

POSSIBLY BURNT OUT OR INCORRECT BULB
COULD BE EMER FLASHER SWITCH IN DASH WHICH HAS T/S FLASHER BUILT IN
LIGHTER COULD BE FUSE OR SHORTED SOCKET

1999 vw beetle 2.0 not turbo. signal lights not blinking

You are talking about the turn signal flasher unit correct?

This is not where or what you would expect.
It's all contained in the 4 way flasher switch located on the same panel that hold your climate controls.
They engineers at VW put the entire flasher control unit on the back of the switch for the emergency flashers.
