This port is located under the air filter box, if you remove the box you will see the highside and the lowside valves, you will hook to the lowside the valves are diffrent sizes and the hose will hook only to the small valve , thats the low side.

I am looking for the low port of my 96 avalon to put freon in it. HELP PLEASE

Under the hood on the far back wall passenger side you'll see what looks like an air hose connection. It may have a protective cap. You can access the low port there. The system uses Refrigerant 134a.

Trying to put refrigerant on my truck

If the refrigerant has leaked out, you should locate the leak first. The low side will be prior to the compressor. AutoZone has free manuals online.

Where is the Lower Port so you can put Refrigerant for the A/C?

You add refrigerant to the port on the suction line of car. And if you are using 134a refrigerant, the manifold hose will only fit the suction line port so you do not have to worry about using the wrong one. Locate the two pipes going to the compressor - the one that is not hot is the suction line - follow it back till you come across the port.

Where do you put refrigerant for the air conditioner?

If you are using an adapter to connect between a can or refrigerant to the suction side of the AC then make sure the screw is fully backed out and screw the can into the adapter. Start the engine and turn on the AC. Remove the cap from the suction side refrigerant port. Screw the hose fitting onto the port. Screw the peircing pin into the top of the can and you should feel the can start to get cooler. Let the refrigerant evaporate in the can but don't turn it upside down. Shake it to determine if it is empty or not. When it can be easily warmed with you hand and feels light in weight the refrigerant is completely in the system. Remove the fitting from the refrigerant port and replace the cap. I hope this helps.

I am trying to put an AC recharge can into my car and can not locate the valve where the cans dispenser is to be connected to complete this...please help

Attach the end of the recharge hose to the low side pressure port on the passenger's side of the engine compartment, near the firewall. Look for the metal coolant lines and follow the lines to locate the low side pressure port. The port is usually covered by a plastic cap. Screw the discharge end of the recharge hose -- the end without the handle/valve -- to the pressure port.
  • Screw the valve end of the recharge hose onto the top of the can of refrigerant. Turn the handle clockwise to pierce the top of the can of refrigerant. Turn the handle counterclockwise to allow the refrigerant to flow into the hose.
  • Start the Cutlass. Turn on the air conditioning to the maximum setting.
  • Turn the can of refrigerant upside down and gently swirl the can. This moves the refrigerant from the can to the hose and into the air conditioning system.
  • Insert a thermometer into the interior of the center air vent and test the temperature of the air coming from the duct. It should be approximately 35 degrees colder than the ambient air temperature.
  • Add more coolant if necessary. If you are using 12-ounce cans, unscrew the first can and screw the hose onto the second can. Turn the handle clockwise to pierce the top of the can, then turn it counterclockwise to allow the refrigerant to flow into the hose. Do not add more than 24 ounces to the system. Take your Cutlass to a service center if you have added more than 24 ounces to the system and there is no difference in the temperature.
  • Turn off the engine of the Cutlass.
  • Turn the handle on the recharge hose clockwise to seal the can of refrigerant of it is not empty. If it is empty, unscrew the can from the hose. Unscrew the discharge end of the hose from the low side pressure port. Place the colored cap over the pressure port.

I am trying to locate the port for ac refrigerant on a 2002 ford focus

To add refrigerant to your A/C system, remove front passenger side tire, remove plastic inner liner of whel well ( I only removed the torx bolt that holds it to the fender and folded it back) There is a silver canister there with a small tube with a black cap, that is the low side where the refrigerant goes. Get the hose attachment wit a gauge so you don't overfill, and a can of r134a, I used duPont Suva, and follow the directions on the hose attachment. Cost around $35USD total and about 45minutes and I now have cool air blowing.

Where do you put in refrigerant on Lexus LX 470

The port should be located on the top left of the engine. Look for compressor and follow tubes toi the back of compartment nearest to firewall. The port should be plainly labeled.
