I have a 2000 pontiac montana its shifting real hard plus lit got a shimmyor shacking

Sorry if you know this but a 33 year of man I know had this problem and I asked if he checked the Transmission fluid. He did not know you should check transmission with engine running in Park at normal operating temperature. I always run it through the gears including Reverse before putting in park with emergency brake on before I check Transmission oil level.
He had to add 1-1/2 quarts to fill up to the full mark(Every car I ever had wants to add oil when it gets a pint low). He had a delay in shifting and when it shifted it was very hard.

Why does my 2006 Pontiac Montana feel like it kicks at 20-40 mph? - insert more words for faster question answering-

sounds like a bad motor or transmission mount try to step on the gas hard and release it quickly while in park do you feel the same thing if you do a motor mount is no good you'll see the engine twisting or raising up on one side the reason why I think its happening at slow speed is the transmission shifts gears and this lets the motor settle back down if not try with no body behind you quick acceleration then wait 5 seconds and hard stop when the car is stopped and you feel a bang from underneath the transmission mount is no good

2004 Montana shifts hard after being driven for about an hour. It has only occurred once, however, other times while sitting at a traffic light, when I press the fuel petal to go, it slips as if...

If the transmission has otherwise being acting OK, then I'd think that fluid and filter might take care of it. A shift solenoid might not be necessary, but it can't hurt. The only thing I differ with you on is your choice of Rislone. They make a great product, no doubt, but I've seen worse problems than you've described made to working smoothly using Lucas Oil.

My wife's Montana (01) has roughly the same miles, and it one time hit hard on a 2 / 3 shift while I was driving it.

I added Lucas (didn't change fluid, filter or anything) and it has worked just fine ever since.

How to reset the service engine soon light

If there is an Auto Zone or any other large auto parts store, have them scan the truck for the DTC codes. The DTC codes will identify the Issues that needs to be addressed in your engine and transmission that has set off the service engine light on. Once the issues has been resolved, the light will reset it self after the third start up and after 40 start up will erase it self from the history as long as there is no additional issues. Good luck and hope this helps, Shift suddenly become very hard. When going from park to either reverse or drive it slams into gear. 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are also harsh. All gears seems to work. Problem may be intermittent: Check TPS for smooth electrical response. If the response is jumpy or erratic at all, replace TPS.
