Once i disconnect the battery to reset pc, what is the driving criteria needed to meet the demands of the computer b/4 the check eng lite comes on again?

If the check engine light comes back on , it's because it has a problem ,, Emission's , engine sensor , computer problem . Need to have it checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes . You need to take it to a qualified repair shop , because you have no clue .

Have 2003 Kia Sorento EX, sat for couple months, then changed batter to pass emission test. Test said not ready due to computer needs to be reset, how far do I have to drive to reset computer?

I think you mean drive cycle not complete.
Generally the van needs to be driven 50-100 miles at both city and highway speeds. The distance needs to start when the engine is at operating temp, and the speed needs to vary including stop and go city. It does not have to be all in one trip but the engine must be warmed up first.

Take it to autozone or another place like it and have them read the codes and tell us what they are.

How many miles do you need to drive to reset your vehicle

Old post.....100 miles? Only takes roughly 15 minutes of driving for the computer to relearn everything.

1997 Dodge Caravan ECM will not go Ready, no trouble codes

In order to set the monitor it the drive cycle 2 trip criteria that means you need to have a cold start up and reach operating temperature then another cold start up with a operating temperature reached and the drive for each one is part throttle hold for 2 miles and a decelration for the catalytic to get ready.when the cat is ready the evap runs.If you are loosing monitor at key off and everything reset you can see the referee let them smog it. The EGR and EVAP are almost impossilbe to get ready

I have a toyota corolla 2003 and recently went for an emissions test and passed. The day after my emission test, the engine light went on. I tried to unscrew and rescrew the gas tank cap, but it didn't...

After tightening the gas cap, you will have to drive the car a few 'cycles' before the light goes off. If that doesn't work, have the trouble codes read to find out exactly what is wrong and causing the light to illuminate.

I changed the battery and now the computer won't "reset"

Did you change the Batt right before the emissions test? If so bad idea. Yes the car needs to be driven for some time before the computer sets up timing fuel and spark carrectly. Drive some more then try the test again, should be ok and pass
