Hi! Have you tried looking on the junkyard? Nowadays the gear shift is really hard to find but you may find one on a junkyard near you. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Original spares of this kind are difficult to find, you may have to use universal OEM replacements.
Here two shifters that should work on 1986 Bronco II:
Manual tranny:Universal - Spectre Shifter - Universal product
Auto tranny:B&M Shifter - Universal product
Here instead the only original parts available (manual):
Input Shaft Bearing
Input Shaft Seal
Output Shaft Bearing
