Honda cvicc lx hooked a scanner up to it can not get a reading

Check for loss of 12 volts to pin # 16 of the diagnostic connector. See diagram below. If no power check fuse for DLC.

1996 Chevrolet pickup when you hook up the scanner I have no communication with the computer. Any ideas?

Test the connector to see if 12 volts is present at the #16 pin (see plug diagram below) if no power it will not power up the scan tool. If no power check the owners manual for a fuse marked DLC (data link connector) plug power.

1997 chevy s10 zr2 failed emissions

You most likely have a blown Auxilliary Power Outlet fuse. (Happens all the time) The Auxilliary Power Outlet fuse also powers you Data Link Connector (DLC). If the DLC has no power, the computer scanner will not communicate with the engine computer.
Check Fuse #7 (25 Amp) in the instrument panel fuse block. (See diagram)

What fuse number for the diagnosis plug to get the check light engine

fuse number 24 is a 30 amp fuse goes to pcm relay and fuse number 30 the 30 amp fuse to ignition to pcm power diode.if check light is working your pcm has power but you could have short in the dlc connector terminal where you scanner adapter goes.your scanner suppose power up from the dlc terminal for obd 2 system the obd 1 you connect to cigarette light or use battery hook up cables that come with scanner make sure you are using correct adapter.

Where do you hook a scanner to a 96 avalon?

The DLC (Data Link Connector) is located in the fuse panel on the lower left part of the dash panel on that vehicle.

Check engine light came on, borrowed a code reader, plugged it in, and didn't work. Checked another car, it worked. Whats wrong with my cars computer.

SOUND LIKE EITHER YOU HAVE PCM FUSE BLOWN IF GETTING NO POWER. FROM 0BD 2 TERMINAL IT HAS POWER TO ITS TERMINAL WHERE YOU PLUG IN SCANNER.OR YOUR SCANNER HAS TO POWER UP FROM CIGARETTE LIGHTER OR CAR BATTERY.IT YOUR SCANNER SHOULD HAVE POWER HOOK UP CABLES FOR BATTERY AND CIGARETTE LIGHTER TO POWER UP SCANNER.

Check the fuse that powers the DLC. It might be shared with the cig lighter or aux power sockets adn may have been blown.

OBD II Scanner TP180-CAN Error.

if the obd 2 reader won't scan and it will not run it is probably a computer problem could even be a wiring problem to the computer not sure if you can get those checked or bite the bullet and buy one. call the jeep dealer in the morning and ask if they can check a computer to see if it is bad
