1991 mitsubishi mighty max 2.4 has no injector pulse why?

It could be that your crank sensor is bad or your ecm. your crank sensor sends a small amount of voltage to your computer telling it that you are trying to start your engine the computer in turn sends a signal to the injectors telling them to pulsate because you are trying to start the engine but if your crank sensor is bad and sends no voltage signal to your computer your computer doesn't know you are trying to start your engine therefore it doesn't send the signal to your injectors telling them to pulsate. If your crank sensor is sending a signal to your computer then your computer is not sending the signal to your injectors more likely a grounding issue through the computer I have seen this before let me know how it goes.

I have fuel but there is no power to the injectors to make them pulsate

It's a fused circuit, so check the fuse, probably under hood, labeled injector. A shorted injector can shut down the injector drive circuit, so pull off all injector connectors, make sure fuse is good, then check for power to the injectors. Injector circuit should nave hot wire anytime key is on. Has constant voltage to injectors. When the computer internally grounds the injector ground wire, the injector will pulse.

Why dont my fuel injectors pulsate on my 1991 ford mustang lx 5.0

Get a cheap set of noid lights and check for electrical pulse. If there is none, test your crank positioning sensor and the wires to it. If that don't work, try testing the distributor's electronic module.

2000 mitsubishi diamante has spark has fuel up to the injectors and power but wont start.

At injector's, need to check if you have ground pulsation, to check, connect test light on pos (+) battery terminal, now your set to check ground, at injector harness, probe wire's, while some one cranks engine, look for pulsation, if you don't have pulsation, it will need a computer, injector pulsation is control by the computer, if no pulsation, then no fuel can get into cylinder.

1987 toyota corolla 3dr hatchback with 1.6l DOHC 16v eng. Came in with a no start. have spark and check engine light is on with key and get a code 6. TPS all checks out good. Checked wires from distributor...

A code 6 is an RPM missing signal. Your distributor coil circuit is open (or could be the coil).Check continuity with a volt meter.Check the blue/yel wire and the white one for cracks or broken,and if possible trace them to the computer for continuity. This malfuntion is a code 6 BUT car should start even so. Now to the injectors:check pulsating ground from computer,if not check wiring,if they are OK,try another computer.

85 f-150 has fuel to injector has spark will start momentarily with starting fluid . would like to know if their is a fuse to ck and its location . i know this system works of a mag pickup within the...

Its called the pick up coil.You need to make sure you have fuel to the injectors if you checked the fuel pressure in the line and had correct pressure maybe the problem is the injectors are not getting the signal to pulsate and allowing fuel through.Check crank position sensor as well.

Won't crank

Hi,

I am assuming that the engine is cranking (turn over) but will not run.

Most gasoline engines would need only two (2) elements to run; fuel and ignition (spark) at the right moment. Based on your post, "not appeared to have jumped timing", it would then be assumed that the "at the right moment" (at least for the spark) is good. Next to check then would be for the presence of spark; this could be performed by removing one of the spark plugs, reconnecting the said plug to its wire, let it rest on any exposed metal and crank the engine. There should be a pulsating spark at the end, if yes then problem is most likely elsewhere, if none, then next to check (depending on the engine type) would be the:
  • high tension wires;
  • distributor;
  • distributor cap;
  • rotor;
  • ignition module;
  • ignition B+12.
If there is spark and yet would not run, then the fuel delivery to the engine has to be checked. There are two checks on the injector:
  • electrical - pulsating +12 on each of the injectors while cranking;
  • fuel spray - you need to remove all and check if each will spray fuel (while cranking). For safety reasons, pls have several disposable containers ready to catch the fuel, paper towels or rugs to wipe/clean off any spilled raw fuel. If yes, problem is elsewhere, if not and no pulsating +12 while cranking, ECM wiring or connector, if there is pulsating +12 yet no fuel spray, then defective injectors or defective high pressure pump.
In some instances, it could be the alarm/security/immobilizer acting up which prevents the engine to run.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
