My car is a 1997 audi a4 and doesnt have remote locking but does have central locking. used to work fine but now the key only unlocks the drivers door. the other doors will not unlock. however if i unlock...

I would start with driver door lock , not the lock cyllinder , but lock assembly which is inside the door and have switches build in to it.

Central locking

turn key twice when opening, ie turn right. once drivers door will unlock, turn twice passengers doors will unlock, and locking is turn anti clock wise once will lock all doors, turn twice will set door dead locks.dead locks will stop openand lock internal button working and handle from opening door. the same actions can be applied to the remote one press drivers door, two press passenger doors, press and hold unlock button for 5 seconds and rear window will open.

Honda Civic: a locking/unlocking issue

if it is a central lock mechanism then it should lock all doors. check the motor/solenoid of each door. also the electrical connections.

Central Locking does not work

You must reset your remote control in order for the lock/unlock to work properly.

To reset remote you would:
1)Insert Key in Ignition Turn to Position 1(Don't Start the Engine) for about 5 seconds
2)Turn Key Off and HOLD the LOCK button on Remote while pressing the UNLOCK 3 TIMES
3)Release both lock and unlock buttons you are holding
4)All doors should automatically unlock

And exit the door and lock with the Remote.

Car remote will open the door but not lock.

Check the two wires from the central locking module (green and brown wires). Either the green or the brown will lock the door. You may use test light or multimeter to test it. If one of the wires did not works during locking or unlocking just change the locking module. If both is working just trace the wire to the drivers door, the locking gun may be out...

Central locking not working with key. Can hear locking motors using remote but does not actuate door locks.

try to check your door lock/car alarm fuse if still good.
if it's still working you have to check the driver seat door if there was no parts of your power door broken.
