Do you have a way to Test the Kv on that spark , if not , look into the camshaft sensor, that controls spark and fuel control

Plugs and wires 2005 mercury sable

What engine do you have, I will assume a DOHC V6, the DOHC V6 doesn't have spark plug wires, each spark plug (located under the igntion coil) has its own separate ignition coil, it is called direct ignition. You unbolt the coil and remove it with the attached spark plug boot and then you remove the spark plug from the cylinder and replace, do one at a time.

How do you rethread a sparkplug hole on a 2000 mercury sable dohc

You best bet is to buy a re tap tool that is designed to re thread spark plugs. It will go down past into the cyl then widen and you tap pulling it back out. You dont want metal shaving going down into your cyl the will damage the piston rings

Start at Changing your sparkplugs wires (if you are performing this on your own replace one by one to prevent mix-up). If problem still persists, have coil pack checked or replaced. Hopefully this helps!!
