Try checking your timing belt. If the valves are not in time with the pistons it will not run.

How to aliane marks on cam shaft pulley on mazda protege 2002

1. Remove all spark plugs so that the crank shaft could be rotated easily.
2. Rotate the crankshaft to align the timing mark of the crankshaft gear with the index mark on the engine cover.
3.Rotate the crankshaft +/- 30 degrees to ensure that the valve could not hit the pistons when aligning the camshaft gears.
4. Align the camshafts as described below.
5. Align the crankshaft timing gear with the index mark.
6. Loose and lock the timing bearing at its farther position. Install a timing belt starting from the crankshaft gear, then right cam, then left cam, and at last the timing bearing.
7. Press and hold the timing belt to keep it firm on the gears and loosen the timing bearing. It will get adjusted by itself with the help of spring attached to it. Do not put extra force on the bearing to adjust it more.
8. Confirm the timing marks.

While fitting timing belt to my focas 05 1.4 i think crankshaft moved because with belt on when i turne cranksheft by hand its getting stuck or caught after a little turn

Your going to have to index your cams the cam gears have a notch/paint mark on both the gear and the housing behind them I'm not positive on that motor but on the majority of engines the crankshaft must be placed at top dead center of cyl 1 then match the each cam gear to its corresponding markings and the markings on the new belt pay attention when you reapply the belt tensioner as it tends to rotate the cams slightly when tension is applied if this happens you could cause a piston/pistons to contact the valves destroying the piston, bending the valves, or damaging the cam or crankshaft themselves. Good luck I suggest investing in a high quality repair manual before continuing

g16a or b
the cam cog mark is at 12pm matching the same mark
at the back 12pm tins at rear of cam cog.
this mark is TDC #4 firing, number four.
pick 8v or 16v engine.

documented 3 ways, by page new page, by FSM and by instruction sheet that came with all new belts (GATES)

the cam cog has 2 false marks, do no use them
use all E marks. 16v and see 8v for its false marks too.
1995 had 2 engines, 2 EFI and 2 heads. as an option.
fact. G16A or B.

Timing on a 95 geo tracker

old post.
G16a (8valve head) or G16b (16valve head)??which one
the 2 option engines are not the same.
first the cam must be timed, or spark is hopeless , due to its being end if the chain if events.
so, is cam belt fresh, 60kmiles or less.
its timed at #4 firing.
see main menu, click your engine.,

spark is next, and guess what, again 3 engines. but 2 for you.

see , its all there, and even the factory pages are linked that tool
cam marks #4 firing.
distributor marks are #1 firing,
on all 3 engine, early 90s classes.
the cam cog wheel on your year, will have false markes
and is covered here, totally. (avoid "I" marks)

How to find tdc without timing marks on damper pulley . timing belt needs replaced dimyself

You can get close, but not exact. you really should take it to a shop that has the tools to do this job. There are no marks for cam timing.

I am rebuilding the 2.3 in an 2005 mazda tribute. How do I synchronize the crank with the cams ? There is no keyway on the balancer

If you have the cylinder head off it is easier to do but with the head on, put the balancer on and make a reference mark on it to the crank snout, then use a long bolt the exact size of the sparkplug threads, threading it into the #1 cylinder. Turn the engine slowly by hand 'till the bolt stops the piston.(be careful that the bolt does not interfere with valves) Make a reference mark on the outside of the pulley and a reference mark matching that position on the block. Turn the crank backwards till the bolt again stops rotation. Make another mark on the pulley in the same place the block mark is at. The halfway point between the two pulley marks is exact top dead center. You can then make another mark at the halfway point, remove the bolt and turn the new mark so it aligns with the block reference. At that time, the piston is at tdc and any mark you put on the pulley can be referenced with a corresponding mark you place on the block for permanent reference will always be tdc, probiding the first reference you made on the pulley and crankshaft are kept in alignment.
Once the crank has been indexed, you can set up cams, following timing chain replacement instructions in your manual. Once this has been completed, turn the engine four complete revolutions by hand and re-check your index points. There should be no valve interference or other binding, and all index points must align properly. What I've described is making a "poor mans" degree wheel. You can buy an actual degree wheel in most speed shops, and also information on using it, as well as performance setups that take advantage of changing the performance curve of your engine by changing crank/cam relationships. You may find some of that interesting and informative!!!

Timing belt

Why do you think the timing belt is an issue, you would be better to give me the symptom rather the question you posed, you can check the timing belt by pulling of the belt cover and putting the crankshaft pulley to the TDC mark and then checking the index mark on the cam pulley(s), the pulley mark should line up with the index mark on the engine, if not the belt has jumped, in this case it must be replaced, if you do replace the belt make sure all the pulleys and the belt tensioners bearings are not rough feeling or have play in them.

How to check a timing belt on a 2002 honda odyssey.

Belts are replaced by mileage, why do you need to check it? Her is how you check to make surer belt is installed correctly:
Pull the spark plugs and feel the press in #1 cylinder, when you feel the piston pushing air out stop and hand rotate the engine to TDC timing mark on the crankshaft pulley, then check to make sure the camshaft is timed correctly by seeing if the cam pulley notch or index mark is lined up to the cylinder head index mark, since the location of these marks vary fom year to year, refer to a repair manual, your public library is a good source for a a manual.
