1998 Buick LeSabre. This car started to act up while driving home, and when I went to leave again it would not start. Family thinks the engines no good, I think It could be a fuse or a computer? Could you give me some advice on what you think it is?

Sounds like to me your Fuel Pump might have quit on you. You would need to check Fuel Pressure with the proper testing equipment but a fast way if you are CAREFUL spray a little bit of carb cleaner while someone is cranking the car into the boot where the air filter is , if this VEHICLE has a Mass Air Flow sensor AVOID spraying into it or you will damage it. find another area to add this spray and see if it starts up.

There are numerous things it could be. It might be electrical, fuel or internal engine problems. Without more information it's impossible to tell. If your not somewhat knowledgeable about cars you really need a mechanic to check it out.

My check engine light comes on and then goes off this has been going on for several weeks. What is the cause?

It could be a loose or bad fuel filler cap. Make sure your filler cap is in place and tight.
It also could be the grade of fuel you are getting, sometimes just a different grade of fuel, or lesser quality of fuel can make it come on for a time and then go off.
You can disconnect your battery for up to 20 to 30 minutes to clear the codes and reset it.
If it comes back on after you do this, you need to have a diagnostic tool hooked up to it and have the codes read, and act accordingly.
