On your vehicle there should be a IAC Valve that the computer uses to increase the RPM when certain loads are activated, seems that your RPM when the AC does come on is lower then normal causing the stumble / shaky idle. I would have someone look into a few things:

  1. Correct Idle with all loads off ie. AC, heater and so forth
  2. Timing
  3. IAC Valve and passages

1989 lesabre stumbles and dies

I agree it sounds like the magnet for the cam sensor, or a problem in the wiring harness.
I don't think the engine will run with the cam sensor disconnected since it needs that signal to set base timing. It can run without the crank sensor once the engine starts.
There is a slight chance the timing chain is getting loose and affecting cam timing too. You may be loosing plastic teeth on the cam gear.

Engine stumbles then dies

check to see if you have coolant in your engine oil. those engines have problems with the lower intake gasket leaking and this puts water/oil ito your combustion chamber, also runs hot after it gets worse. I would say all of those engines do this after a while.

that code p0300 means your haveing a random muticyclinder misfire when your car stumbled and died it may have threw that code but it may be something else as the problem cars not smart enough to relize this it can be a faulty injector or one bad coil pack could be a cracked spark plug things have to be tested to determine the exact cause i had this same problem i i have a 2002 dodge intrepid it did the same thing as your car did

1988 jeep cherokee stumbles vibrates and hesitates bad

Check the fuses in the power distribution center. Several in the section that is not labeled except for the amp rating, operate the feed for the computer and can make the engine run like that if blown. Otherwise, make sure the ground points are good, that you have everything plugged in and that no wires got pinched between the bellhousing and block when you put it together. Get a manual and test all the sensors as well.
