I am in the process of replacing the Power Steering Pump on my 2006 Ford F-250 Lariat w/ 6.0L Diesel. Need solutions on how to fix it...

I forgot to mention during our chat that to remove the serpentine belt, all you have to do is pull the tensioner back. The tensioner has a square hole in it. Use a 1/2" breaker bar and stick it into the hole and pull the tensioner back to release the tension while you slip the belt off of one of the pullies. You don't have to take the belt off of all of them...Just so you get it off of the power steering pump pully.

How do i release the tension on a 2005 nissan sentra altinator

First look at the diagram that is located in the engine compartment somewhere that shows the routing of the serpentine belt. it should show you which one is the tension idler. All you have to do is place a socket on the nut of that pulley and pull it to release the tension and therby releasing the belt so you can remove it. If you don't see a diagram draw a picture of the belt routing for reference. Look for the pully that does not work any of the visible components. I have included the link to a video that displays the procedure.

How do i get the serpentine belt off a 2003 mitsubishi outlander

To get this off, there are two ways:

1. Loosen the alternator, and pull it back until the tension is released.

2. There will be between the various pully's (belt runs around) a tensioner. This is holds the belt tight. With a rachet and socket, pull (push) the tensioner until the belt has slack - pull one part of the belt off (any pully) and release the tensioner back to it's position. (It will go further than when the belt was on - this is normal.

When installing the new belt, if using the tensioner, the belt will need to be placed on the tensioner last - get the belt around all other pully's in it's correct configuration, then, pull back (push) tensioner *(while holding the belt tight with other hand, and ready to be pushed over tensioner) and slide belt into place over it.

Also note: a serpentine belt will only go on one way (grooved side down).

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Need to know how to put a serpentine belt on a 1995 302 ford motor

Below the altenator is a tensioning pully, insert a 3/8" ratchet or breaker bar in the square hole on the tensioner and release the tension on the surpentine belt and remove the belt. Route the new surpentine belt in place up to the altenator and take the tension off the tensioner and put the belt over the altenator pully. Double check to make sure the belt is riding correctly on all the pullies before starting. Crank the engine over several times before starting to seat the belt. f78f558.jpg

Ho0w do you replace the power steering belt on 1996 dodge avenger

there should be a tension idler that has to be retracted to give the belt slack most has a 1/2 inch square hole in it for a break over bar to fit in it to realese tension however i have not delt with this particular model but most are the same also be sure to carefully look at how the belt pattern is or if it still has the sticker for belt routing on it realese the tension and slip belt off first pully making sure not to put yoru finger between the belt and the pully after the first pully has been cleared the the tensioner can be released and the belt removed then put new belt on all pullys but one at this point tensioner bust be realesed again ultill belt is plased on last pully be suer belt is inline with all pullys

Belt came off 2001 dodge caravan how do you release tension

there is a tension pully on the top of the left side that the belt has to go under. put an open-end box wrench (15mm, i believe) on the bolt for the pully and pull it towards you. it's spring loaded, so be careful that the wrench doesn't slip. as you pull it with your right hand, tuck the belt under it with your left (after, of course, it's around all of the other pullys). let the tension pully loose slowly, and there you go!

Serpentine belt replacement how to loosen belt

To loosen and remove the drive belt on a 2004 Toyota 1.4L engine you simply use a wrench and pull up on the spring-loaded tensioner.1d45837.gif
You should be aware, however, that if you are experiencing problems with belt squeal or rattling noise, there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for your vehicle that provides information for an updated tensioner assembly.

How to install alternator on F250 2006 7.3 diesel, got the old one off and installed new one, can't get belt back on there has to be a trick

2006 F250s did not come with a 7.3l diesel. 2003 is the last year of the 7.3l. Either you have a 6.0l, made a typo in posting the year of your truck, or somebody swapped a 7.3 into that chassis.

Either way, the process is the same.

HOW DO I REMOVE SERPENTIENE BELT?

On one of the pullys you will see what they call a tensioner pully. Its a small pully with a flat surface with no lip to to prevent belt run off and is the only pully that will pivot on a springloaded arm. Also, the backside of the belt will be the side running across that pulley. Look at the arm on that pully and sometimes (depending on the design) you will may see a Square hole. That hole is made to place a 3/8 " rachet drive or breaker bar into it and by pushing or pulling (depending on your position relative to the pully) you will pivet the tensioner pully so that the pulley moves away from the belt. It should pivet in one direction only. Watch the tension in the belt go slack. Then as you keep the pressure on the ratchet with the pulley fully released (when you can piviet it no more) use your other hand and slip the belt out from under the pully. If you do not see a square hole you can will need to use a pry bar and find a location to pry against the pulley arm that will release the tension. This arm is spring loaded so use caution and be safe that you do not slip to avoid injury.
