SOURCE: what would cause my car

P1400 is a signal issue with the MDP ( (MDP=Manifold differential pressure) sensor and would not cause an engine no start, it is a turbocharger sensor code, so you will need to check the following things which will disable the engine from starting.
1. Do you have fuel pressure? the test port is on the top of the engine in the rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, you need a special fuel pressure test gage to check it
2. Has the timing belt failed? pull back or remove the front cover and watch the camshaft pulleys do they move when the engine is spun over with the starter
3. If you find nothing wrong in the above then check for spark, use a screw driver with a plastic handle and pull a spark plug wire off, put the end of the screwdriver in the plug boot, have someone crank the engine over while you hold the blade of the screwdriver near any metal surface on the engine, you should hear and see a spark, if not the camshaft belt has broken or the ignition system has failed, id this was the case you should have a fault code other than P1400.

Right on top of the EGR, (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), valve, which is on top of the intake.

Looks like this,

Now, let's talk. The guy's and gal's at the auto parts stores, are just there to sell auto parts, not diagnose cars, pickup trucks, and so on. Nice that they try to help, but an ODB II scanner just shows generic information.

What I'm stating by that, is that you could buy that expensive part, and this may not cure your problem, and/or you could damage your computer if the procedure isn't done correctly.

The P1400 code states,
1.DPF EGR signal circuit shorted to ground
2.DPF EGR signal VREF circuit open
3.DPF EGR sensor is damaged or has failed
4.PCM has failed (Powertrain Control Module)
5.TSB 4-3-1 contains repair information for this trouble code

You need a scanner that is the NGR, (New Generation Star), or has the capability to read
Ford Enhanced Data.

This connects to the PCM in the harness. (It's located on top of the engine) If the procedure isn't done right, you can "Let the smoke out", of the PCM.
You also have to reset the computer to clear the error code.

I know shop time is expensive, but sometimes it leads to less expense in the long run.

SOURCE: code P1400 on a 1997 nissan maxima. help car wont pass inspection

P1400 on your vehicle is described as :Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Circuit Low Input You either need a new DPFE valve, or a new EGR valve. Both can be tested for functionality before replacing them both. EGR valve is more likely I think. Cleaning it may not improve its performance, but its worth a try. Also check the vacuum lines between the DPFE and EGR system. The EGR valve and DPFE are usually close together above the exhaust manifold/downpipe. you need service instructions to test these items, suggest you go to a garage really...

SOURCE: wat does code p1400 means

The code P1400 reads "DPFE Sensor Voltage Low" (Ford, Mazda). Often it's caused by a bad DPFE sensor or clogged EGR passages. DPFE stands for (Differential Pressure Feedback EGRI) I would clean the EGR valve which cost nothing. If that does not cure the problem, you may need to replace the DPFE sensor, which does cost, and it may not fix the problem. If you want to be sure you replace the correct part, then visit your local Ford dealer.

Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected.
Maybe you got a bad DPFE sensor, or the pintel inside the egr valve is not opening all the way causing the insufficient flow.

What does a code p1400 mean on a Mitsubishi longer sport 200 mean

Here's a link to your code P1400. p1400 is your manifold differential sensor(MDP) and has nothing to do with your cat.

There is a small map sensor (MDP) that sits directly on top of your intake manifold. The sensor doesnt' seem to effect the car in any REAL way. I drove for 2 years with that code with no problems. I've just recently picked a used one from a guy who did a 6 bolt swap and the code is now gone. I didn't notice any difference by changing it though.

I think I paid 30 dollars shipped or something. New I believe they go for approximately 95 dollars US. Definately worth finding a used one if you can.

Either code 4000 or 1400 on 2002 ford ranger 4.0 ltr v6. the right code should equate to the egr valve. I have replaced the egr valve but check engine light comes on again after reset showing same code.

code p1400 is a DPF EGR sensor CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE detected. most likely is a problem with the wiring to the egr or dpfe sensor. the pinpoint tests for code p1400 instruct you to test all wiring before replaceing the egr or dpfe sensor

P1400 - DPFE (Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic) Sensor circuit Low Voltage

The DPFE sensor is usually not hard to change. There are 2 small rubber hoses that run from the EGR tube to it...

Replace DPFE sensor, reset engine fault codes. The Ford one is a good one and carries Airtex. Sometimes I hear that this change always need replace EGR valve to delet all codes. Test it.

Good luck.
