I checked my oil but the indicator light flashes at low speeds and idle, Ford Thunderbird 1997, any ideas

may need a new sensor or the oil pressure is to low until engine is reving higher which would indicate the oil pump needs checking

Reving up when in gear driving

check your trans fluid, if its been a while flush it and change the filter if its reving and your speed doesnt change (slipping) if your speed changes check the TPS and speed sensors on the trans as well when you change fluid.

Looseing speed have to push pedel to regain speed

If the tachometer is increasing (or you can hear the engine reving faster), then the transmission may be slipping - assuming constant speed. You should check the auto transmission fluid level at once. Low fluid can cause this. Slipping usually will happen when the transmission is hot - so it is less likely to happen when - for the first few miles. Most auto transmissions require checking be done when hot, and idling in park on a level surface. The fluid should be pinkish-red and have an oily smell. Brown colored and burnt smelling fluid is not a good sign. You may be able to flush and fill the transmission to save it - - but no one will tell you it will definitely work or not. Good luck!

1995 Boneville 3.8 no supercharge. starts and idles fine but when reved up to about 2000 rpm starts missing/backfiring badly.exhaust would become red when reving up.removed cat converter did not look bad...

you need to check the 02 sensor that is on the engine

the converter is probably blocked if it is turning cherry red.

try putting some fuel cleaners in your system like heet from auto zone

you need to make sure the wires are in the right order

make sure there are no breaks in the wire

if you have a check engine light, you should take it to auto zone to get it tested for a better insight

Engine fails to accelerate and transmission shifts hard in hot weather. On hot days above 85 after the car has run awhile it stops running well. The coolant fan is running seemingly at an excessive speed....

check engine coolant temp sensor, its detect engine overheats that command the computer to engine shutdown for protection, try to replace a good one

I have a 2006 Ram 2500 Diesel. My heater quit working. One minute it was blowing hot air, then next it was blowing cold air. Any ideas what this is or how to find out without spending an arm and a leg?

low coolant. disconnected or faulty servo to control difference between hot and cold or the heater core could be clogged. if it warms up when reving the engine then it is probably low coolant.
