Question about 1998 Chevrolet Blazer
Sounds like your egr is stuck open causing a large vacuum leak, this in turn causes the engine to run rich and want to die at stops. Look on the intake manifold for the valve. what im not sure of is what type of egr you have. you will either have a vacuum controlled or digital controlled egr. if it is vacuum controlled try tapping on the top of it. This will usually close it. If it is digital... remove the wires to it, reomve and turn it upside down to inspect it. Also I would check the base gasket for the intake and tbi. spray some carb spray around and see if you can find a leak. you will know you found a leak if the rpm rises as you spray the gaskets.
