Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Open Question

1999 NBS Z71, transfer case will not shift with push buttons, build code NP8, shifted to 4HI got a SERVICE 4WD light but went away and the truck completed the shift to 4HI. When I went to shift back to 2HI it would not shift, it would shift 4HI to Auto 4WD. Have changed the selector switch in the dash, repair shop told me the transfer case actuator motor was bad, I changed that- now the TC will not shift out of NEUTRAL. The TC feels fine when shifting with wrench- Question: how many positions should I be able to shift the TC? (I can only shift to three locations) Nest I changed the TCCM, after initial install with new selector switch and actuator motor the selector switch showed being in 4HI, I put the trans in drive and noticed the rpms drop, seems like it is in gear (truck is on ramps and jack stands still) so I pushed the 2HI button all the lights on the selector switch go out SERVICE 4WD light comes on, TC is back in neutral. At a loss what's next?

SOURCE: My 98 chevy blazer won't shift into 4wd.

Most common problem is the vacuum diaphragm that is so inconviently mounted UNDER the battery tray. The cable that locks in the front diff is attached to it and vacuum pulls it in/out.

SOURCE: 4wd doesnt work

First make sure someone did not replace the transfer case with a manual shift transfer case. If not you have what mechanics call "GHOSTS" there is a miscomunication somewhere between the button and the relay this will take time to trace down get a good multimeter and a wiring diagram.

How do I fix my 99 blazer the dome lights won't turn on and the 4 who drive won't light up or work

In the instrument panel fuse box fuse # 8 CTSY LP 10A ,that's for the dome lights, fuse panel is left side of IP. What are you talking about 4 who drive won't light up or work ? 4 wheel drive ? Do you have two speed automatic or two speed selectable ?
Switch Indicator Lamps Do Not Light - One or More ? Check fuse #15 IP fuse box 10A 4WD . This is for two speed auto !

Circuit Description

The indicator lamps circuits consist of 5 individual lamps contained inside the mode/range switch assembly, they are AUTO, 4WD, 2HI, 4HI, 4LO and NEUTRAL. The AUTO, 4WD, 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO lamps are contained inside their respective range button. When the ignition is ON, the transfer case shift control module illuminates the indicator lamp that corresponds to the current ATC gear position by providing a ground through a current limiting driver.
The transfer case shift control module flashes each indicator lamp after a shift has been requested and will continue to flash until the transfer case shift control module can complete the shift. After a shift to AUTO, 4WD, 2HI, 4HI, or 4LO is made, the transfer case shift control module will flash that indicator lamp until the transfer case shift control module receives a high voltage signal on CKT 1695 from the front axle switch.
A solid state circuit located inside the switch supplies ignition voltage to the lamps. The solid state circuit also receives voltage whenever the headlamp switch is in park or headlamp position. When the solid state circuit receives voltage from the headlamp switch it will reduce the voltage that it supplies to the indicator lamps, dimming the lamps when the headlamps are ON.

My 1997 GMC Sierra lights for 4hi and 4lo blink when i push the 4hi button and then goes back into 2hi. but when i push 4lo it locks in and works fine. I tried changing the 4wd motor on the transfer c

THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR IS ONLY FOR 4WD LOW. That would have never been the problem as soon as you confirmed it shifted into 4wd Low. 2wd and 4 Hi work off of vacuum. You may have one or two issues. A vacuum leak up by the front axle that engages the 4wd HI or the sensors on the transfer case.

If its a 4WD there is either a push button on the dash left side of steering colomn, its marked 4hi. If manual shifter in on floor center console. Pull back on lever to second notch marker 4hi. If you are in 4lo now and can't get out. first put tranny shifter in neutral while engine running, then shift transfer case into neutral (manual push forward), push button hold 4hi and 4lo at the same time til "N" green light comes on. Then shift either into 4hi.
