Question about 1997 Audi A4
You hit the nail on the head! The cherry red thing would be your converter. Sounds like your converter is plugged the question is why. You have a 97 car so it would not be too uncommon that the converter simply broke apart inside which is causing the restriction, Or is something wrong with the furl management system that caused the engine to run rich and melt the inside of the converter. It sounds like your going to have to replace the converter and have the fuel system checked. There may be noting wrong with it but a converter usually is not cheap and better to be safe then sorry. Good luck!
