Fill the radiator with water, leave raditor cap off and now try to crank it, if it pushes water put, your motor has severly overheated and head is cracked/ warped and head gasket is blown or worse.

Overheated now won t start

See if you can turn the engine crankshaft by using a socket wrench. If you can't turn it, the engine is seized due to overheating.

Changed thermostst and heater hose, car ran fine but leaked on right side of engine (Freeze Plug) now car stopped running while driving and wont start

sounds like the frost plug(freeze plug)let go and needs to be replaced. may have overheated the motor and it stopped due to overheating, as you say it was running and then just stopped and won`t start. just so you know the right side of the motor is the side facing the radiator as the pulleys face the drivers side. this is how a tech differentiates left from right on a Honda. fill with the proper anti-freeze and water mixture. this is all the help I can give you with the information you have supplied.

Car started knocking really bad got a cylinder 2 misfire code after opening coolant bleed valve with enging hot

Okay, it may be due to overheating, that may be the noise you heard, lets hope. first allow engine to cool, open radiator cap or the resivoir cap, which ever is the fill, remove the bleeder at top hose and fill radiator slowly until coolant comes out bleeder.

note if water pump was replaced due to leaking and engine was overheated at that time then it may be a good idea to replace the thermostat .
after filling is done start engine and allow it to run. watch temperature if temp start to climb past half way shut engine down and let sit for 5min. then restart and check level, in res do not open cap . feel air from fan and see if it is getting hot, this may take up to a half hour but do not drive,

A few questions, does this jeep have an electric fan?
when you heard the knocking was engine temp hot?
If you start jeep cold does engine knock?
Did this jeep get a new thermostat with waterpump job?
did it overheat when pump went bad and why did water pump get replaced?

sorry for all the questions ,just trying to get all the info to help you .

My 01 Nissan Altima overheated because of a broken heater hose. Now my car won't start.

When a car overheats it can do serious damage to the engine internals, including completely seizing the engine. It is common for overheating to blow a head gasket which would explain the bad starting. Unless you know how to diagnose these issues, you will need to take it to a repairer for an assessment. Be prepared for some very bad news.

Car won't crank when trying to start it

Dead battery. Automatic transmission shifter not in PARK. Manual transmission clutch not pushed in or clutch switch defective. Bad battery cable connections. Bad battery cables. Bad starter relay. Bad starter motor. Faulty ignition switch. Malfunctioning transmission range sensor. Wrong key or unprogrammed key for the vehicle. Faulty PCM. Faulty IPC. Faulty BCM. Engine locked-up due to overheating or running out of oil. Interference from aftermarket equipment like an alarm system or remote start....that's some of the reasons this can happen.

It needs to be properly diagnosed so you do not go broke trying to diagnose it by randomly replacing parts.

thats due to low or no coolant, you shouldnt drive this overheating engine damage will occur, the first thing is to fill the radiator up, and look around for any leaks, if no leaks are seen, then start engine and allow it to warm up, leave cap off at first to top off coolant, after a few minutes install cap and let it run, keep an eye on the temp gauge and also watch for leaks. this problem is due to a coolant leak, maybe a hose is bad or it was low on coolant or you have a bad thermostat, good day.

overheating maybe, probably going to need a new water pump or thermostat, replace hoses that look bad and hopefully it didnt overhead too bad. If you know it didnt over head then maybe you should check the battery cables to make sure they are secure to the battery. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, I love your car :)

Try checking the hoses... you may need new hoses for the car. If the car is overheating... it is possible the coolant is unable to do an efficiant job due to a leak...
