SOURCE: my 1996 cadillac eldorado says battery no charge

Most likely you need a new battery but do this first. Remove the battery ground connection and the positive connection. Clean them with soda water(coke is sticky but all sodas will work). Scrape or sand the inside of the cable connectors and the outside of the battery posts till they are shiny. A low battery light usually means it is not fully charged or taking a charge optimally but effective troubleshooting the battery and starting system starts with clean, secure connections and a fully charged battery. If your battery has electrolyte filling caps undo them and check the level. If they need topping off use distilled water only. Charge the battery with a car battery charger. It should read about 13.4 Volts under no load. Check and clean the battery negative cable connection to the block and the positive connection to the starter solenoid. Check for good connections to the charging output from the alternator. Inspect all wires for kinks, cracking, shorts, ect. A good once over will reveal probem wiring. Reinstall the battery and cables. Giv'er a crank and see if that is not stronger. Drive it for an hour or so and crank it again. Any noticable degradation in cranking power means you have a bad battery, alternator, diode pack if applicable, voltage reguator, or any combination of the three. Take your alternator and battery to your auto parts dealer. They will usually test them for free. Aslo, starters can wear after time but this is most likely not your problem based on the symptoms.

SOURCE: cadillac eldorado 98 ran out of gas now wont

I don't know if your model was already equipped with the 'limp home' mode but if it is, your computer may need to be reset via a code scanner or the dealer.

SOURCE: my 1986 cadillac deville cranks over but wont

it may be a bad fuelpump, try sparying starting fluid into throtlebody if it starts then its a fuel problem, you can also check for spark, pull a plug wire insert a screwdriver into connection of wire and place close to a ground then have someone crank engine and see if theres spark,if theres no spark it could be a ignition control module, the best thing to do is pin point the problem by seeing what itt doesnt have, fuel or spark,

Car cranks but wont start

Could be timing belt/chain. A good indication would be if it cranks faster than it did when it would start. I am not fimiliar with your car, but on most cars you can remove the oil fill cap and see springs, rocker arms, etc. If you see "Stuff", have someone crank the engine while you look in the hole, and see if any thingys are moving. If you get any type of spark while cranking the engine, it's not the timing belt.

My 1986 cadillac deville cranks over but wont start what could it be?

It should be either no Spark or no Fuel.
Possible causes: Out of gas, no oil pressure, faulty oil pressure switch, Bad fuel-pump, fuel-pump relay, needs tune-up, defective ignition control module, wrong air/fuel ratio, defective IAC valve or EGR valve.
Other causes: Wrong timing, bad compression, or clogged CAT.

My car wont start and it gots fuel and spark?

Double check the timing belt. It might be on but stripped. Have some one crank it over and look in the oil fill cap to see if the rocker arms are moving when you crank it.

1991 eldorado wont start

So you put gas down the throttle body and it won't start. Sounds to me like you either have NO SPARK or your plugs are already fuel fouled. Even with you supplying the fuel. it still wont start. FYI, the FUEL FILTER is located by the R/R wheel, and the FUEL PUMP is located IN the fuel tank. Hope this helps

Doesn't start just turns over

You need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to have an accurate reading on fuel pressure. Also one quick check is look in the oil cap and see if the rocker arms are moving when its cranked.

Starting car whie hot, will not crank over unless gas is pumped

Hi. You need to check the fuel pressure to really eliminate the pump. It could be running but not producing sufficient continuous pressure. A drop of only a few psi may enough to prevent starting or smooth running. Once you're sure you have enough fuel delivery and you've already done basic ignition, then you can move on to the fun stuff!!!
