Question about 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse

1 Answer

I try to start my 04 eclipse but nothing happens, no clicking or anything. i had it jump started then it went a few miles before it started jerking and shaking while i accelerated. i pulled it over and when i stepped on the breaks, the car violently jerked to a stop. i turned it off and haven't been able to get it started since. i think it might be an alternator or something. before i stopped the car, the TCL and check engine lights came on and started flickering. then everything just sort of shut down. what's going on?

3002 Pt Cruiser GT - 53, 000 miles - first start of the day - went about 1/4 mile down hill, engine light came on. Had put gas in the day before thought maybe the gas cap was lose. Tightened gas cap, went...

It sounds like a sensor is intermittantly loosing the data stream. Since the engine light came on, I would go to a reputable shop and have them check for codes. Many auto parts stores will do this as well and sometimes for free. Can't beet free. If I were to guess I would say something like the camshaft postion sensor is going bad, Or the crankshaft postion sensor, Or something like that. The code will tell which one it is.

Good luck, and if you have any further questions please....ask!

2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse won't start. Came home from work parked the car no problems at all. Few hours later went out to leave and it won't start. Just out of the blue. I was able to jump start it. No...

Battery is dead... get a volt meter, jump the car and with the car running on its own power check the voltage, anything less than 12v could point to an alternator but a new battery is a better place to start. put it to you this way if the car shuts off while driving, then its your alt, and if its fine wen drivin but wont start back up... its all battery
