Its a simple resistor in the head of the key... u need a multimeter to find the value of that resistor...then purchase a resister of the same value...try radio shack... and install it between the two vats wires...they are located under the dash and coverd by orange insulation.they are two small white wires....connect the resistor to the wires on the vehicle longer need the ignition side of the wires.. that should bypass the vats and no longer need the key with the resistor built in

Can i unplug the anti theft system in my 1992 saab and my car still start and run?

No you can't. You can bypass a key or module, But the ECM still needs a signal to start and run the car.

I have a 2000 olds bravada it starts but stalls right away what do you think it is

You are most likely experiencing a failed or failing Antitheft security system. Gm has had issues with this system since they first installed them in the early 80s. Contrary to what others may tell you, this system CAN be bypassed and eliminated. People will tell you that it

is impossible, or even worse, illegal. This is simply not true. It is your vehicle and you can do whatever you want to your vehicle. This site has a lot of information and can help you beat this problem for far less than the $1000 dealer quote.

Value of lost key to use a bypass module

I would get an Ignition switch with key from the junkyard and just replace it. You can get the replacement instructions out of a Haynes manual

Have had no prior issues with the starter with my 1992 Pontiac Bonneville, but car would not start today. The radio and all gauges came on but engine would not crank. Is there anything else I can try...

Start at the problem. Go to the starter and with a test light, probe the small wire on the solenoid (may be labeled S) while trying to start. If the light comes on then its a bad starter/solenoid.

If no light then make sure the car is in park. Try to start in neutral.

Also if you have VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) that could be another issue (any "security" light on?). Is there a small silver "chip" embeded in the key? That would be the resistor for the VATS. The weak link in the VATS is the ignition lock cylinder. There are small wires on it inside the column that will break over time because they move as the key is turned.

A simple web search for VATS bypass should net you some results with diagrams on how to bypass the key resistor. (it is not actually a VATS bypass as the Pass Key module is still in use)

I need a picture of a serpentine belt routing for a 1994 pontiac bonnevile 3.8 L ac bypass

I can't directly post the routing diagram but i can direct you to a catalog of diagrams, just look up your engine and your make and model and go to the bottom of the pdf file for the numbered diagram for your car. Please allow the large pdf file to load from the link below. Thanks$FILE/SerpentineBeltRoutingGuide.pdf

How many o2 sensers are on the 1995 bonnevill and what does the traction light on the dashboard pannel mean?

You have 2 O2 sensors
The traction light which is on tell you the module detects a fault with the traction control or the module is bad instead

A repair shop told me that my EBCM was bad and needs replacing. The Brake, Tracktion control idiot lights are on. I have a 2001 Pontiac Bonnevile SLE. The dealer wants $700+ just for the EBCM module. Does...

Look on This is a network of salvage yards from all around the country. Most will ship to you at reasonable cost. Once, a dealer quoted me $700 plus for an TCM, and I got it through this website for $75 from a salvage yard in California. Good luck.

My security system in my 1992 pontiac bonneville is blinking and my car wont start what can i do, i have a reset key where do i put it

Sounds like your theft modulator has gone bad. The same thing happened on my 94 Deville. Try Disconnecting the positive cable from your battery for 10 minutes to reset the system. If That doesn't work look into replacing the theft modulator.

98 bonnevile security shut down car completly no power @ all

If you have the passkey system you might want to take the key to the dealer to have it tested, and if that is ok then there is a way to bypass the security system which I had to do in my Bonneville.
