Be sure the compressor clutch is cycling. Also, check the orifice tube, evaporator and condensor for blockages. Freon level should be checked with manifold gauges and compared to specs.

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Crown Victoria HVAC only blows thru windshield defrost

My 2006 Crown Victoria developed the same issue you describe. The problem was corrected after dealer replace the EATC Control Assembly .. Part number 3W7Z-19980-AA

Everything worked great again until 30,000 miles later a similar problem has now shown up. The fan speed control does not slow the blower down past about 75 percent of full speed.. It's like it only has the upper 25 percent of fan speed range now. No change going from auto to manual.. I can still control where the air blows but have lost most of the control over the fan speed.

SOURCE: charger 2006 ac not working blowing hot air

HI. Here is a complete check list that will help you trouble shot thsi issue. You will find the problem in one or more of these areas stated below.

1. Check Drive Belts - The air conditioner utilizes a drive belt that supplies power to rotate the compressor, which is basically a refrigerant pump. If the belt fails the compressor has nothing to drive it, inspect and replace as needed to restore operation. If belt is intact proceed to the next step.

2. Check for Compressor Clutch Engagement - Turn the air conditioner to the "on" position and set controls to the coldest setting. Start the engine and allow to idle. Then open the hood and inspect the clutch at the front of the compressor, is it turning? "Engaged" if so, the system has enough refrigerant to activate. If the system is low on refrigerant it will not work properly. In this case an air conditioner recharge kit is needed to recharge the system. If the system is low on refrigerant it could cycle on and off, making a ticking noise. If the compressor clutch is not turning proceed to next step.

3. Inspect for Refrigerant Leaks - If the system has a large leak and no refrigerant remains it will not activate. First test system for a static pressure charge, with the engine off attach an ac gauge to the low side pressure port and check the state of charge. Depending on outside temperature there should be between 50 psi and 80 psi. (Cool and warm). A refrigerant leak detector is needed to inspect for leak, but if you do not have a leak detector there is an alternative method. The air conditioner system is designed to run with oil suspended in the refrigerant to lubricate the system. Check for oily residue outside the system by inspecting all hoses, compressor, condenser, evaporator or receiver drier and replace any component that has failed.

4. Inspect Fuses - Check under dash panel and under hood power distribution center. Replace failed fuses as needed, recheck system. If the new fuse fails when reinstalled a short circuit is present and requires diagnosing with a wiring schematic, follow circuits to locate short, repair as needed and recheck system.

5. Check Temperature Control Vents - The vents inside your car are controlled by a cable, electrical servo or vacuum servo. If the temperature blend door is not functioning properly it will cause warm air from the heater to exit the vents. To check this start the car and allow the engine idle, next turn the blower motor speed on low, switch the temperature control from warm to cold while your ear is close to the vents. You should hear the door move inside the heater box as it swings from open to close. If not, insect for a vacuum leak or a shorted motor in the servo, repair the leak or replace the servo motor.

Heater not blowing hot air

no year,? wow.
but is it blowing cold air. (or dead blower?) ill assume cold fast air.
ok there are only a few ways.
1: ENGINE NOT reaching, 180F temp and holding, (a meter check in 1min flat)
2; the HVAC failure.

check fuses. yet/?
does heater fail in all modes of heat and vent directions?

this sample page works on all cars.

Car only blows heat on passenger side, Drivers side still cold even after replacing the actuator. What else could it be?

If the blower motor is running, that means the 30A HVAC BLOWER fuse is OK. The HVAC control module obtains power through the 10A DIC/RKE fuse in the right instrument panel junction block and the 10A A/C CRUISE fuse in the left instrument panel junction block. Output from the HVAC control module controls the mode actuator and the recirculation actuator. You replaced one of the two. The other one may be defective or the replacement one may be defective. Also, the HVAC control module may be defective and not producing door control output

Air conditioning will not blow, I have already replaced the air blower resistor and the air blower motor and also checked all fuses, what else should I trouble shoot

If you have checked fuse #35 in the underhood fuse panel, the remaining things to check are the wiring and the HVAC control module. But before changing anymore items, it would be advisable to troubleshoot the problem with a voltmeter.

Last week I ran the air conditioning unit in my 2006 Pontiac Torrent, when I got home the weather had turned cold so I put it back on the heat, however, the heater does not work now, all it does is blow...

Hello first of all

Your blend door motor / acuator is bad its basiclly a door that opens and closes when you flip your
heat to ac dial to either allow the hot air through the vents or cold air.

That being said on some suv and cars and trucks you can replace the motor that controlls this blend door can be changed without removing the dash and some you haveto remove the dash.

The blend door is located right by the heater core in the dash but sometimes the motor that controlls the door blend door is accsesable without dash removal and sometimes it is. I posted a picture below of what part is bad i hope it helps you.

If it helps please leave me 4 thumbs up thanks

1.)If your System is OVERCHARGED this Will Occure due to the EVAPERATOR FREEZING UP
2.) Also if your HVAC Control Modual is Malfunctioning this will Aslo Cause this Condition, It Controls the BLEND DOORS that OPEN for COLD or HOT AIR Look Into these Items and Also Look Into wethrt the A/C Compressor Cycles OFF when it GETS OFF this Will POINT at the HVAC CONTROLER if it Cycles Off When Set For A/C or COLD Air

My heater stoped blowing hot air.antifreeze level

If the blower is blowing air just fine, but you cannot control the temperature, you need to listen to air coming from the vents while turning the temperature from hot to cold. If you do n ot hear any change in airflow, then you may a temperature door in the dash broken. this is becoming a common problem on the Equinox and Pontiac Torrent,
