Question about 2000 Hyundai Elantra

1 Answer

I have back problems and my 2000 Hyundai Elantra seats are too hard/uncomfortable. Thinking of going to wreckers to buy seats from another car. Any advice on changing the seats over?

Thanks. I don't know how much an auto trimmer would cost, but I went to Supercheap and got some sheepskin inserts instead. If I must keep the seats, hopefully they will make it more bearable.

The best idea and the cheapest thing to do is talk to a auto trim shop about the problem, they can made padding adjustments to the seats that may help your problem, trying to use other seats not specifically designed for your car unsafe, the reason they will not bolt to the reinforced floor pan in the same position, this will make the seats unsafe in a crash as they can tear away from the floor.

I have a 2003 hyundai elantra wondering why my speedomter suddenly stopped working today what could possible be causing the problem

Most cars these days have whats called a speed sensor that is electronic. And fail all the time. I would look into this first. The part itself is around $50. If you feel uncomfortable replacing it your self, take it into a shop and they can make sure its the sensor and give you a statement on the cost and repair.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 2000 Hyundai Elantra?

Sorry , its probably inside the gas tank. If you are lucky , there will be an access panel under the back seat , or in the trunk. If not , the fuel tank has to be removed.

Where can i get a replacement seat belt for an elantra 2000 20001 model?

For sure at the Hyundai Dealer.
You can try "junk" garages.
Last: You can buy some of the belt for towing from auto parts store or Home Depot and replaced. You have to stich very well at the ends. It is easy.

Did you check the transmission fluid level? If necessary, add fluid. However you probably have a more serious problem. Take the car to a qualified transmission mechanic.

Hyundai 2002 Elantra - Battery Change

You'll have to reset your clock and it will reset the computer in the car but you'll be fine. Just remember, black to negative and red to positive. Keep them straight and you won't have an issue.

Also, parts stores often change them for free if you buy the battery. Napa, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc. If you're that uncomfortable.

The front two seat belts on my 2000 hyundai elantra are stuck, how do i get it loose??

Try jerking on them real quick and see if they go back, if that doesn't work you may have to take the trim off to get to them it may be they have overlapped themselves and wont move.

2000 Hyundai Elantra Transmission problem

I don't know if I can help but as an owner of a Hyundai Elantra 2000 GLS with 205,000 miles and the original clutch and transmission I'll try and help!

I always start with the lowest cost solution first and avoid mechanics as much as possible!

Have you checked the trans fluid?
It should be changed every 30,000 miles!
Sometimes a Lucas Trans Fluid will cure - fix slippage!

Have you checked for a clutch adjustmet!
An adjustment can cure - fix slippage!

Are you a clutch rider with your foot always on the clutch?
If so you may have worn out the clutch!

How many miles to you have on your Hyundai Elantra 2000?
