Question about 2007 Hyundai Entourage Limited Minivan

1 Answer

I'm not exactly Mr. Goodwrench, but I can usually do most of the simpler maintenance with my vehicles. What do I need to know to change a headlight for my Entourage? Any tricky parts? Thanks!

This is pretty simple as t is just a bulb you would replace Most headlight bulbs are replaced from the back of the headlight assembly. You should be able to turn the socket 1/4 turn to the left and pull it out. Then replace the bulb and push it back in and turn 1/4 turn to the right till it feels like it hits a stop. If they are halogen bulbs, take care not to touch the bulb with your hand. Use a rag or paper towel to handle the bulb. The acid from your skin will cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.
if you need further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you further. Thanks and have a great day.

"my cambelt has snapped twice"
if you keep snapping belts, the engine is toast.
at the least the head is wrecked.
you skipped the 60k service points, so now must pay the gods
of physics. (he is called the cruel god of entropy) "sorry !"

the cam belts do not last the LIFEof any engine., not even close.

time to go to mr, goodwrench , any ASE mechanic will tell you the truth. any.

On November 20, I posted the original ''1995 Lumina APV quit running.'' Two trouble codes fixed later (MAP, TPS, replaced) and a trip to Mr. Goodwrench followed by an ECU replacement, It still does not...

If there is spark and the sensor is in position and secure. There is a cold idle valve beneath the throttle body. It should repeatedly click as it actuates on and off.. Theory is it creates a controlled vacuum leak until the engine can carry ttself once warmed up.. Good Luck

"maintenance required" light is stuck on in 1991 Jeep Wrangler

On the dim dashlights, there is usually a rotory switch that you can turn to increase the power to the dash lights. In earlier vehicles it was part of the headlight switch and you just turned it one way or the other to adjust the brightness. In newer vehicles it is a switch like a knob sticking out of the dash on its side that you push up or down to change the brightness of the lamps.

The Maintenance Required light is probable on because the vehicle has hit the 50,000 mile mark and it comes on automatically so that you take the vehicle in for maint. of the emission system. If this is the case there is usually a way to reset it untill another 50,000 miles go by. I would read the owners manual, or better yet pickup a Chilton manual for the vehicle and see if it says how to reset the light. You also may want to have the vehicle checked to see if any trouble codes have been signaled. Good Luck, RAC

Headlight wont turn on

Sounds like your headlight switch has failed. I have a 99 Audi A4, and when mine died, it was the same exact problem (it's a known problem area for the Audis). Given that your car is behaving the same way, I'd look into a new headlight switch as a solution. The toggle-for-highbeams feature is wired separate from the normal headlight wiring and is a simpler contact setup. The contacts and wiring and switching for the low and running high beams is more prone to failure. You should be able to find a switch assembly at a salvage yard for less than $15 and can probably change it yourself in a half hour to an hour.
