When my egr valve went bad i would turn my air on and hear a bang like something was being force open or close do to poor vacuum. it would hesitate to start and sputter at stop lights then the idle would jump up then really low. once i changed the egr valve everthing was normal. it seems to rust out then get stuck close. the damn electric air pump is used in the first 10-15 seconds of start up and in wet climates will retain water wich then will rust these delicate parts like the egr valve.55 dollar solution at auto store 30min job

Car doesn;t turn over 2000 ford mustang

There is a switch on the Brake pedal or on the Clutch pedal(If equipped) that prevents cranking the engine if the pedal is not pressed while trying to start the car.

Often this switch gets hit by the Driver's feet and either loosened or broken. Another thing to have checked is the Battery. The Antitheft may kick in if the Battery is weak.

Please comment on my info.

Sounds like the idle control valve. The same thing happened to my Mustang and that was my problem.

2000 ford mustang thetf light flashing not allowing car to start. Checked all fuses. Alarm relay maybe?

There is a small ring around your ignition cylinder. There are 3 wires that run from it. It is some kind of sensor for the Theft or PATS key. If you use your tilt a lot, it seems to have a "undesirable" effect on the small wires...My Mustang Cobra did this one day. Had a great mechanic friend come over to the house...He just moved the column (tilted it about midway). Cranked right up!!! It still does it occasionaly, but all I have to do is move the tilt.

I cant get sound out of my speakers. i put in a new stereo and hooked it up

Did you use a wire harness specific to your vehicle year and model? Make sure you get the right harness, depending on what factory system came with the car(base or mach460 sound systems), If your speakers were working prior to replacing the radio, then there's a possibility that the harness may not be compatible. also, the car may be equipped with a factory amp(mach460 systems). Here's a link that may help you figure it out. http://www.modifiedlife.com/2000-ford-mustang-car-stereo-wiring-instructions/

2000 ford Mustang clutch

Before attempting any work on your car go and get a Chiltons or Haynes manual (from your local auto parts store) for your year/make/model. It will cover several years and models, but has detailed instructions with photos on how to do just about anything you need to do. Secondly, I suggest you get a buddy to help you. The tranny is heavy in your car, and if not done correctly could put you in the hospital should it land on your head. Replacing the actual clutch really isn't that hard in a Mustang. Its getting the transmission out and back in (probably while the car is on jack stands) that can be hard.

good idea shoot it in the air cleaner while cranking the engine .. if it starts its a fuel problem .. you might be looking at a fuel pump or clogged filter .. more than likley the pump thanks jerry holler if you need more.

Long cranking before starting

on most model fuel pump has to hold rest pressure possible is loosing the pressure.
have you replace fuel pump?
the best way to test a faulty fuel pump is that before cranking the engine try to put ignition switch to position on and off two or three times for 3 seconds each time then start the car and see what hapen
